Going Fishin'...

Brent and Beck could not wait to test out the new Bumble Bee fishing rod! Brent contacted Jesse (Uncle Jody's dad) and asked if we could use his pier to try and catch a fish on Saturday morning. He was more than happy to have us there and offered several helpful fishing tips. We sure do appreciate him letting us invade on his property. We didn't get there as early as we wanted and we found out it's best to fish in the evenings so we'll have to come back after dinner one night since we did not catch anything today. You'll also notice that the color of the day is red...Pops, Brent and Kinsey all wore red shirts today and I didn't notice it until I put the pictures together! Right after we arrived, Beck really needed to potty so Daddy pulled his shorts down but he would not pee in the water. It wasn't until much, much later that he was doing the serious potty dance so I took him to a tree and he was able to get it out then. Whew!

I really had my hands full...taking pictures and watching Kinsey!

Kinsey REALLY enjoyed getting in the fishing box! That girl gets into every thing!

She's a handful but I wouldn't trade her for anything!

Kinsey and Beck are best buds...

I had to get Kinsey off of the pier because she was making us nervous. I was so afraid that she was going to fall in the water or get caught by Beck's hook. She sat in a chair for a little bit but quickly got bored with it so we played in a boat that was on land. She had fun on the boat!

Pops tried to find worms in the mud but it's been too dry around here...I think all of the worms are gone! Beck thought he caught a fish but it turned out to be a big tree limb.

Kinsey thought this boat that was turned upside down was a slide made just for her! She had so much fun on it!

Beck got bored with fishing so he joined us and found a dead turtle...ewww.

Here are three serious fishermen and one little boy playing with a worm caller. What's a worm caller? It is a smooth stick rubbed against a jagged stick on the ground which brings the worms up from underground. It didn't work today but I know it does work because I've seen a show about worms coming to the surface if they feel like they are being invaded by an animal digging in the ground.

We only stayed for about an hour because the fish were not biting, the kids were bored and it was getting close to lunch time. It was fun to get out and experience country life and I can't wait to do it again!!!
