Believe it or not, we still had practice even though it's spring break week and there are no games this Saturday.

Spring Break Week...Last Day in Dallas

03.12.14

Nobody cried last night but we did have one kid get up about 3ish because he was scared.  Wanna guess who it was?  It was Beck!  He walked to Brian and Katherine's bedroom and they sent him back to bed.  He went back to sleep and all was well.  And, Kinsey did not fall off the bed so I would say that it was a pretty successful night.  Just as predicted, the cold front is here!!!  We did not want to go any where crowded and with it being cold outside kind of limited our options.  So, we decided to ride the free trolley that's located in the downtown area.

We really enjoyed riding the trolley and this is Beck and Kinsey's first experience!  By the way, it is so freakin cold!

We grabbed lunch at the Highland Park Soda Fountain which was a unique experience.  The reason why I say that is because you are on your own when it comes to seating!  And, a server waits on people at the tables but the people at the bar are at the mercy of the workers diligently working behind the bar.  It was kind of chaotic but a cool place at the same time.

Then, we went to a nearby store called Froggies.  This store has every cool toy that you could imagine!  Our kids are playing in the window display.

Lola and Ava worked on making bracelets while we packed up to leave.

Thanks for spending spring break with us and for entertaining us!!!  I always ask the kids their favorite part of a trip and mine was when a very nice police officer pulled Aunt Katherine over for an outdated inspection sticker.  I won't go into details but it was a moment that I'll never forget!!!  Lol!

Spring Break Week with Ava, Lola and Otto

03.11.14

Marcus had to go to school the next morning so we ran a few errands then met Leigh and her kids at Emily's house because Kinsey left her jacket at Leigh's and I knew we would need it tomorrow since a cold front is coming!

The kids had a blast!

Then, we hit the road to Uncle Brian and Aunt Katherine's house and the kids are tired!

Aunt Katherine loaded us up in her van and we took off to the park to burn off some energy before eating dinner.

We are eating at the coolest outdoor restaurant called Chicken Scratch!

This is what makes an outdoor restaurant cool...a play area for the kids...

and, really good food!

I almost forgot the best part!  The kids meals include a homemade popsicle!  Unfortunately, the only flavor left by the time Kinsey got hers was cantaloupe but her super sweet cousin, Lola, traded with her!  Lola had banana or was it pineapple...whatever it was, it was yummy!  Thank you Lola!

Good night Kinsey Girl!  I hope Mommy does not push you off Otto's bed.  Lol!  Beck is sleeping on the bottom bunk with Ava and Otto and Lola is sleeping on the top bunk in Ava and Lola's room.

Spring Break Week with Marcus

Dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant took longer than I thought it would so we ended up at Jeff and Jill's late.  Our time with Marcus was way too short.  I wish we could have spent more time with him.

Uncle Jeff had a good time measuring Marcus and Beck's feet.

Then, he measured Marcus and Kinsey's hands.  I remember measuring myself against my cousins, aunts and uncles when I was a youngster.

Kinsey really liked this surfboard!

Six Flags (part two)

We rode the train two times...once to get to the other side of the park so we could ride the antique cars and then again to get us back to where we were which was closer to the front gate.

While on the antique cars, I jumped off to take a picture of the kids and they completely panicked!  They were so afraid that a car would hit us.  As if I would let that happen!

We pushed the kids hard today and I have to give them credit for hanging in there.  We were here over five hours, spent a lot of money but it was all worth it because they had so much fun.  The picture above shows how much things cost these days at this place.  Plus, the admission was $150 and that was with a discount!  I asked Beck if he liked this place and if he wanted to go back and this is his response, "It would have been more fun if we could have rode the go-carts to each ride."  Lol!!!  What's really funny about his comment is that it was going to cost $10/person to ride the go-carts and we had already paid so much to get in the park that we didn't want to pay another $30 to ride these things.  We never rode the go-carts but he thought of them...we did do a lot of walking today!

We ended our evening eating dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant (Blue Goose) located right by Leigh's house.  It was so yummy!!!  I guess I was a little hungry after our big day at the big amusement park. The kids made masks with the tortillas...waiting for the food to arrive is always the worst when you have little ones.  Leigh also asked for tortilla dough and they had a really good time playing with that as well!

A big thanks to Leigh for the hospitality!
