28 weeks / 7 Months

I saw Dr. Nivens last week for the glucose test and all went well except that I'm on the low end of iron which really surprises me because I do eat food that is loaded with iron. I guess Kinsey is sucking all of the iron out of me.

This pregnancy has been a lot harder. With Beck, I was sick at least once a week up until I had him but at least I could come home and relax or fall asleep whenever I wanted. With this pregnancy, after I leave work, I pick up Beck, we eat dinner and play until he goes to bed. We start his bath at 8:30 and he's out by 9pm. After he's down then Brent and I watch the shows we record (American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Lost, Desperate Housewives and the Amazing Race). So, there's not much down time not to mention the fact that Beck weighs 35 lbs which has been hard lifting him. My lower back is in excruciating pain by Sunday night. I do suffer from sickness with this pregnancy but zofran has been my best friend which has helped tremendously. I try to get off the medicine almost every weekend but always end up getting sick. Last Saturday, I ate breakfast (sweet rice) and as soon as I finished, it all came back up. Yuck!!!

Y
esterday, I took pictures of our newly remodeled Preston/Forest location and ended up hurting myself by doing a baseball catcher's squat. I was asked to get several shots but the one that got me was a picture of the base of our new tables so I had to get low to get the perfect shot which resulted in a pulled or strained muscle. I called Dr. Nivens and she said to take it easy, prop my feet up, take a warm bath and Tylenol if I need it. Thanks to Brent, I was able to do everything except take Tylenol because we didn't have any. What I did must have helped because I'm able to walk today. I guess I won't be volunteering to do anything crazy like that again. I'm going to take it slow and easy from here on out...wish me luck!

First Suit

Beck received his very first suit (minus the jacket) from Pops and Kiki so we dressed him up for church Sunday morning and he'll wear it again on Easter Sunday (next Sunday).
We have noticed that Beck likes to leave the house with something in his hand...this time it was a school bus that we bought when we visited Matt in Austin.
Brent and I think he looks very handsome all dressed up! He managed to wear the tie for the most part but got tired of it towards the end so we took it off.
After church, we stopped and got the traditional apple fritter and blueberry cake donuts. Yummy!!!

Noah and Easter Bunny

Saturday night, we got together with Wes, Kath, Noah, Jeff, Jill and Marcus at Maggiano's for some delicious Italian food and to spend time with the family. (Jennifer and Jody were in the process of returning from a 2 week cruise; Brian and Katherine were at a fencing competition.)
After dinner, we headed to Willow Bend mall and noticed the Easter bunny was all alone so we took the opportunity to get Beck's picture taken. First, let me state that I had no idea this would happen or I would have put nicer clothes on Beck. Secondly, I never dreamed Beck would be so willing to sit next to this big bunny. He not only sat by the bunny while a mom was trying to get her kids picture taken but he also tried to feed it an egg, gave him lots of high five's and waved bye. He was cracking all of us up!
Noah also got his picture taken with the Easter bunny and wanted to touch his whiskers.
Then we headed to the play area. They had fun running around but the one thing that Beck really wanted to do was ride all of the cars that was outside of the play area. Thanks to Jill and Wes for supplying us with the quarters!

Kinsey's Room

My very hard-working husband has been working every weekend in preparation for Kinsey's arrival. The new guest bedroom is almost done with the exception of painting the doors and adding shelves/rod to the closet. In one weekend, he was able to paint Kinsey's room, put the crib and bookshelf together and paint the chandelier. In the midst of everything, Beck LOVES to help!!!
This is the bookshelf that Nana helped purchase which is off to a good start with a few stuffed animals, cute pink frame with white rhinestones and a princess book end but still in need of books and toys...
Before...
After...View of the crib with the painted chandelier and canopy that I ordered on-line...I still need to make the curtains but I hung the fabric to get an idea of what they will look like.

Snow in March?

On Saturday, March 20th, we heard the weather man say we would get a wintry mix and boy did we ever! I took a few pictures Saturday night thinking it would be gone by Sunday morning. Everything was covered with snow which was really neat to see especially after St. Patty's day!
The next morning we were shocked to see how much snow had fallen! Our neighbor used a ruler to measure how much snow had built up on his hot tub and it was over eight inches. Beck wanted to go out and see the snow so we changed his clothes, put gloves/hat on and a big coat. We stepped out, he looked around, said, "cold" and wanted to go back in the warm house.
Brent had started painting Kinsey's room so that's why there is tape around the window but you can see how much snow had built up...Amazing!
What a beautiful day!!!

Maddy Turns 2

On Saturday, March 20th, we went to Madeline's birthday party which was held at Matt and Kristen's house (only a mile from our house). Friday was a gorgeous day but turned bitter cold on Saturday. In fact, we got to their house at 4:00pm and saw a few little snow flakes on my windshield wiper. What was supposed to be a backyard party turned into an indoor party. Beck and Madeline started off by cooking up a fake meal...
Kristen planned an activity for the kids...making an octopus out of crayons, glue sticks, already cut out heads, legs and squiggly eyes. All of the kids thoroughly enjoyed doing this and luckily Brent helped Beck make his (daddy is the artsy creative person) because Beck's turned out really cute!
Then, we all ate hamburgers/hot dogs, there was a fruit tray, veggie pizza, cupcakes and ice cream for dessert. The cupcakes were adorned with fish since that was the theme of the party. Madeline did a great job eating her cupcake!
Beck had little to do with watching the gifts being opened...he would much rather push around the grocery cart or play with the helium balloons.
Madeline's most prized gift was the baby doll and pink stroller. I actually heard Madeline scream for the first time when a little girl tried to "steal" her stroller. Like Beck, she wanted to push "her" stroller all around the house. Beck also got a little miffed when this same girl tried to steal his grocery cart. It's so funny to see little 2-year olds get upset.
In the goodie bag that was given to all of the kids was a blow up crab and fish stickers. Beck put the fish stickers on his table and we blew up the crab for bath time. I asked Beck to give the "fish" a kiss and he did! It was heart warming to see him being so sweet to the plastic crab.
Happy Birthday Madeline!!!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

On the way to work/Mrs. Linda's, I got a quick picture of Beck and Brent wearing green today. Mrs. Linda said the kids are getting green eggs and ham today...then, green cupcakes this afternoon. I bet they have a great day as the weather is supposed to be awesome (high 67 degrees and sunny)!

I can't believe the new guest bedroom remodel is almost complete! All that's left is installing a new ceiling fan, painting the doors and moving in the furniture. Brent spent the entire weekend painting and installing the trim...it looks fantastic!
