New Beginnings

Tonight is a big night for all of the young ladies at church!  And, so much work has been put into this spectacular evening by so many volunteers.  Welcome to the Value Mall!

This is the table that I sat at as all of the young ladies entered the relief society room.  I told them they would be shopping tonight and asked them to sign the back of a (fake) Master in Charge credit card that will be used at each store.  If they have any questions, they can call 1-800-002-PRAY.  (Sarah did an outstanding job making the Value Mall sign/invites and the fake credit cards!)

The programs were printed on shopping bags (aka lunch sacks).  One side had the outline of the evening and the other side had the young women's theme and this year's scripture.  Moroni 10:32 "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in Him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God."

The girls were told they could go on a shopping spree but they had to seek out the best of things and find wholesome things; things that would last and had real value; all of these things could be found in the Value Mall set up in the gym.  Each girl picked a hand crafted bag to carry all of their purchases.

During their shopping spree, the girls and their families enjoyed some delicious muffins made by the oh-so-talented Tammy and a cup of hot chocolate served in Starnorth cups (designed by Sarah).

I was very impressed by the efforts put into this presentation this evening!  I hope the young ladies enjoyed it and I look forward to getting to know the newbies this year!
