Surprise...the party is for...ME!!!

What was suppose to be a party for me, Brent, Brian and Wes turned out to be a party for the old lady...Me! I quickly discovered that Brent put together this party for Me! He sent out evites to friends and family, he reserved the private room at On the Border, he made arrangements with Katherine to order a strawberry flavored cake shaped like a "Tiffany" box from Society Bakery, Natalie helped him buy the decorations and he consulted many people on what to do when the big ice/snow storm hit the day before my birthday. He decided to move the party from Thursday night to Saturday afternoon. The people that could come on Thursday couldn't come on Saturday and the people that couldn't come on Thursday could on Saturday. I wish all of my friends/family could have been there to celebrate this monumental moment but I am SO grateful for the ones that made it. I want to give a big thanks to Brent for making my birthday SO special! It was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to the next 40 years!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

It is pretty typical for the weather to turn bad right around my birthday which really stunk when I was younger. I can remember wishing I had been born later in the year so I could have a pool party. My cousin, Christie, was born four months after I was and I was always so envious because she could have whatever kind of party she wanted and never had to worry about bad weather. Well, this year, it was kind of nice to have bad weather the day before my birthday because I got to spend it with my favorite people...Brent, Beck and Kinsey!

Forty years ago, my mother was twenty years old and delivered her first baby girl in Longview, TX at Good Shepard Hospital. Who would have thought that I would wait until I was forty to have my second child? [Actually, I was 39 when I had Kinsey but she will turn one the same year I turn 40. Yikes! That's a scary thought!] I wonder where I'll be when she and Beck celebrate their 40th birthday? I do hope I get to live long enough to see Beck and Kinsey's kids.

Kim Kardashian recently celebrated her 30th birthday and she kept saying that 30 is SO old. She is on a reality show and she was so down in the dumps about her birthday. You can only imagine how that made me feel. Oh well, I'm going to keep living like I'm still 29 years old!

Brent did everything perfect...he brought home my favorite meal from Panda Express and my favorite chocolate chip cookie from the cookie place in the mall. Everything was SO yummy and I sure enjoyed being at home with my family!

More Ice/Snow? Really?

Tuesday, February 8th, the weather forecasters are predicting bad weather again! This is crazy! It was suppose to start in the middle of the night and we would wake up to ice/snow. However, it didn't start sleeting until 5ish and I could hear the umbrella by the pool making all kinds of noise. Brent left it open to see how long it would last since it was already torn up. Unfortunately, I wish we had put it down because it kept waking me up and I could imagine it blowing up in the sky and landing on somebody's house or it falling over and blasting through our brand new windows! I think the thing finally fell in the pool at 6-something and I was so relieved to hear it finally fall over. It was neat to see bunny footprints around the spa when we woke up to investigate the damage of the umbrella. The roads were pretty icy when we woke up especially since it had been so cold the past week and it finally started snowing at 8am. Everything closed again today. However, we certainly did not get snow like last week. Beck enjoyed scraping the ice/snow off of our sidewalk and throwing it on us. He cracks me up!

Happy Birthday Abraham!

Abraham's birthday was on February 5th but due to the bad weather we had that week, we waited until Tuesday, February 8 to have a small celebration. I made brownies for the kids to eat and they loved them! Beck even licked his fingers!

It was a fun little birthday party and I'm going to miss Abraham. He has been with me for five months and has been the easiest kid to watch. His dad usually drops him off close to lunch time. I put Abraham in Beck's crib and he goes to sleep without crying...it is SO awesome and he'll sleep for 2-3 hours!
He's a very sweet and cute kid and I know Beck will miss him too. His parents gave me the best letter of recommendation I've ever seen! And, they gave me two tickets to Studio Movie Grill in appreciation for taking such good care of their son. Abraham's mom is a pharmacist and got a job working weekends so she can stay home with him during the week. She said I inspired her to be a stay-at-home mom. [That's exactly what I told Mrs. Linda when I took Beck out of her care.]
Beck, why so serious?

Abraham's last day was painful...literally. As I was eating lunch, he was walking around the kitchen grabbing his booty and I thought he was trying to tell me he had a dirty diaper. A few minutes later, he came up to me, grabbed my leg and started pushing and crying. This lasted for about 15 minutes and I was pushing with him so he wouldn't feel bad about what he was doing. He finally got it all out and it was the biggest ball of poop I've ever seen! I told his parents several months ago to give him foods high in fiber to loosen his stool. I felt so sorry for him because I know that was so painful.
Take care Abraham!

Beck and Kinsey

Beck is fascinated with Kinsey's jungle gym...he wants to play with her but he ends up knocking it over then she gets very frustrated. They are so cute together!

Beck also loves to sit in the Bumbo chair...

Three Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

It's Saturday night, most of the snow has melted, our plans to go out on a date changed since mom and Wendy couldn't make it to Dallas and we found out that Ava and Lola are at Jeff and Jill's house. [Katherine is in Vegas and Brian is having a get-together with his music friends.] So, we went over there so Beck could play with his cousins. They all had so much fun! In fact, Beck worked up a sweat from playing so hard! Ava and Beck enjoyed holding Kinsey, Beck pretended to be asleep in the bed then they started jumping on it like three little monkeys! Good times and good memories!

Snow Storm - Day Five

I still can't get over this major winter storm we've had this past week and it is especially funny that the Super Bowl is here in Dallas this year and it is tomorrow. Jerry Jones wanted everything to be perfect so that it could be here again in five years but there wasn't much partying to do since the roads have been so bad. I read this today and it made me laugh...Several weeks ago, Jerry Jones was overheard talking about the upcoming Super Bowl. Meanwhile, up in heaven Tom Landry leans over to God and says, "You know what would be funny?" Looks like the joke is on Jerry with this major snow/ice storm we've had lately.

I am so bummed because Neena and Aunt Wendy were suppose to drive up and spend some time with the kids and let us go on a date but that's not happening. Looks like our date night will have to wait a couple of weeks.

The snow will melt today so I wanted to take advantage of playing in it one more time before it is gone. We were not having much luck building a snowman but we sure gave it our best attempt.

It is so hard to believe we still have so much snow on our sidewalk/street/ally!

Brent sure enjoyed throwing snowballs at me!

Good thing we have a snow shovel...

Beck throwing snow...

As you can see, our pool is frozen...Brent and Beck had fun busting it with a hammer then breaking it into pieces. What do you do with broken pieces of ice from the spa? Throw it in the pool to bust it up too!

Then, Brent decided to clear our sidewalk...

By the afternoon, the temperature got so warm that almost all of the snow had melted. It was fun! Can't wait to do this again next year!
