Beck's Second Game

03.21.13

I'm not really looking forward to tonight's game because it is cold outside and it starts at 7:30pm.  I put on two layers of clothes on Beck and Kinsey.  Luckily, I brought a blanket with us because Wendy kept it wrapped around her the entire time.

We showed up with the orange t-shirt but the new black team shirts were delivered so the kids had to change shirts before the game again.

After Coach Nolan told the kids to get on the field, I noticed Beck walking back to the dugout with tears in his eyes and my heart started racing not knowing what's wrong.  Turns out, Beck didn't know where he was suppose to go so I walked him back on the field and got him where he needed to be.  I also told him that Daddy would be here very soon.  One of the dad's that helps coach gave Beck a pep talk.  About 15 minutes into the game, Beck ran off the field and again my heart starts racing.  I asked him what's wrong and he tells me that he's very cold.  So, I told him he had to stay on the field a little bit longer.  We are not off to a good start tonight.

Things got much better when Daddy arrived.  Thank goodness!

Daddy let Beck wear his jacket and poor Daddy had to wear the team t-shirt.  Brent is hot natured but he's got to be cold!  Surprisingly, Kinsey never complained about being cold.  In fact, she tried to take off her jacket but I talked her into keeping it on.  And, she enjoyed helping me drink some hot chocolate.

The game finally ended at 9pm and I couldn't wait to get home.  I'm really ready for some warmer weather.

Wendy's March Visit

03.19.13

I had a coupon for free french fries at Cheeburger Cheeburger and Wendy, Beck and Kinsey had never been there so that's where we ate dinner tonight.  This place has great burgers and the kids loved their burger and grilled cheese sandwich in a car.  Beck's class is talking about transportation this week so I'll take these fun cars for the kids to play with during free time.

Then, we headed over to Neena's house and played with Bella since Daddy is working on the house tonight.  Plus, I wanted to drop off Beck's t-ball schedule.

It'll be nice having Wendy around this week since Daddy will be working on the house after work.  Maybe a visit to the park, she will get to see him play ball and his trike race at school.  It'll be a fun week!

Beck First T-Ball Game!

03.18.13

This is Beck's first official t-ball game and I don't know who's more nervous...me or him.  We had to arrive at 6pm for a 6:30pm game and we discovered the team shirt logo disappeared when washed so the Logo gave the team t-shirts to wear tonight.  However, the t-shirts do not have names or numbers on the back so it's going to be difficult keeping up with each kid especially for the score keeper.

Brunch with the Bunny (part two)

It takes five tickets per person to ride the ferris wheel and these guys would not let me ride this one with the kids so I had to purchase five tickets because they really wanted to ride it.  This will be the only ride that they can only do once today.  Beck loved it and Kinsey was scared at first but she ended up liking it.  I love her facial expressions!

Great view from the top of the ferris wheel.

It was time to take a much needed break.  Beck and Kinsey were hot and Kinsey's legs were so dirty from crawling onto so many rides.  This is also when I saw a friend (Kim) that was on the drill team with me and we talked for a very long time.  Her daughter and Beck went in the Fun House with the spinning tunnel about a million times.  Ha!  I'm exaggerating but it was a lot.  Kinsey played in the Fun House and never came out.  She loved the punching bags.  Does that surprise you?  Anyway, it was a lot of fun catching up with Kim and the kids loved playing.

Aw, the carousel...I never knew I would enjoy this as much as I did today.  I put Kinsey on a horsey (that's what she calls it) and Beck sat down on a bench seat.  I sat down with Beck and it felt so good!  My feet were kind of hurting me from standing up all day.  As we went around and around, I watched Kinsey closely to make sure she didn't do anything crazy.  She was cracking me up by screaming, "Yee Haw!"  She was saying this so loud that parents around us turned around to see what she was doing.  She's a wild one!  Thank you carousel operator for letting me ride for free and for giving my feet a break!

At this point, Kinsey had ripped off her wrist band and our time was almost up anyway so I let Beck go in the other Fun House with the slide over and over and over.  Kinsey and I sat at a table in the shade located right in front of the Fun House.  She was so tired that she didn't ask to go in the Fun House.

Beck had to hit the Super Slide one last time before leaving and this is when I discovered that Kinsey had a dirty diaper.  I was not prepared to spend the entire day in Longview and only brought one diaper with me which I used this morning during our restroom extravaganza.  So, I changed her and put on an extra underwear that I carry around in case Beck has an accident before leaving the carnival.  I drove across the street to get a small package of diapers and begged her to not pee pee.  Thank goodness she didn't and I was able to put on the new diaper without having a major accident.  Whew!  Beck and Kinsey fell asleep as soon as I hit the road.  They were completely exhausted but loved every minute of it!  This turned out to be a great day!  I wish Brent could have been with us.

Brunch with the Easter Bunny (part one)

03.16.13

Daddy is working on the house today and I've got something fun planned this morning.  I signed the kids up for the Longview Mall program four months ago and this is the first thing we've done.  I have no idea what's going to happen so this is going to be a "Sheri Adventure".  (Brent really likes my adventures...not really.)  I got the kids dressed up and we headed to the mall for Brunch with the Easter Bunny at 10am.  The food court tables were all reserved for the brunch and we stood in a long line.  I soon discovered the line was for this...each kid received an Easter bucket filled with breakfast type of items/treats such as honey bun, muffins, gummy bears, chocolate and a juice box.  Then, the kids were directed to some long tables that had colors, markers and a piece of paper to color.  By the time we got to these tables, it was time to sit in the food court and wait for the Easter bunny.

Kinsey only ate the chocolate and she gladly wore the bunny hat.  It was cute to watch them get excited about the Easter bunny.  Pictures with the bunny cost $25 or $30 so we opted to not do that...too bad they don't have more options.

Walking through any department store is a nightmare because Beck and Kinsey think it's so funny to run through the racks and hide from Mommy which drives me crazy!!!  But, we had to do that after eating our treats because Beck had to use the bathroom which took forever.  It felt like we were in there for 15 minutes!  Anyway, we went to the arcade to play $5 worth of games.  After getting a prize for the few tickets that we won, Beck discovered that he had lost his toy.  Keep in mind that he is never without a toy in his hand so it's crucial that we find the missing toy.  We walked through the arcade but didn't see it so we back tracked to the dreaded department store that has the restroom because he assured me that he had left it there but it wasn't there.  That's when he remembered that he had put his toy in my purse.  What a relief that we found it!  As we were walking out of this department store, I noticed people in line at the information booth so I asked one of the helpers what was going on and luckily I did.  The helper told me that if we are in the kids program that we could get a free all you can ride wrist band for the carnival that would be valid from 1pm-4pm.  Wow, this made our little Brunch with the Bunny worth it!!!  However, I would have brought a change of clothes if I had known that we would spend the afternoon at the carnival.  Beck and Kinsey begged for a cookie from the cookie place so I bought each of them one and made them promise to not eat it until after lunch.  We drove down the street to eat their favorite food which is chicken and it was such a pleasant meal because I did not have to say the word, "eat" one time.  It was such a treat to sit down and watch them eat.  (Maybe I should get them a cookie at every meal.)  Then, they both devoured their cookie and I jokingly teased Beck about not saving one bite for Mommy.  I'm so, so happy that they ate all of their food!
Brunch with Easter Bunny2

We went back to the mall and I put the wrist bands on them and we were off.  The first thing Beck wanted to do was the giant slide.  The operator told me Kinsey was too short to do it by herself but that I go down it with her.  I was hoping to get out of it by letting him know that I did not have a wrist band but he said that was ok.  Oh my, not sure I'm up for this but I'm going to suck it up and do it for her.  I did not want to go fast especially with Kinsey in my lap so I tried to slow myself down by dragging my hands. Boy did that hurt!

Beck went down the slide several times.  I think he is realizing that we are not limited to using tickets.

Next stop is the Fun House...his favorite!  It was so cute to see him peek around the corner before we went down the slide and then he gave me a cute smile and a little wave.
Brunch with Easter Bunny5

I was a little leery about Kinsey riding this one and I did see her get a little teary eyed as the dragon was spinning in circles.  Can you see her bottom lip poking out in one of the pictures below?  But, this little cutie patootie was a trooper and hung in there.

The car and motorcycle ride are my favorites and I love to watch Kinsey turn the wheel like she's really driving.

Beck went in another Fun House and he had to show the people standing behind him how to get out of the spinning tunnel.  Great job Beck!

Friday Family Fun Day

03.15.13

Neena watched the kids this morning so I could use another pedicure gift certificate but this is my last one so I probably won't get another one until we go to the beach.  Then, we ate lunch at Pappacita's and did a little shopping at the mall.  By the time we left the mall, Kinsey was completely exhausted and fell asleep on the way to Neena's house.  We dropped her off and then took a slow drive to let Kinsey sleep and to meet Daddy at our future new home.  He took off work today to work on the house and thankfully, his boss sent over a helper.  They were able to install the front door and nail plywood to the fireplace which were the two big things that took most of the time.

Daddy built lots of storage space in the attic and this is one that has a ladder for an "upstairs" storage area.

That's the super tall ladder that Brent's helper stood on while nailing the plywood to the fireplace!  Brent was so thankful that he did not have to do that!

I love our front door!  More research went into this front door than picking out our appliances.

This is our back door which I also love because the blinds are inside the glass.

The back of the house is completely bricked and it will take a while to finish the stone on the front of the house.

After helping Daddy clean up, we went to a store to buy some speaker wire for the living room and the movie room.  We ate dinner then stopped at a sporting goods store to get Beck ready for his first t-ball game.  He needs black baseball pants, orange belt and orange socks.  While we were looking for Beck's stuff, Kinsey found herself a helmet!  I can't wait to see her play sports!

I want to thank Brent for all of his hard work! He's got some major skills and I am so grateful for everything he does for our family! Only a few more months and we'll move into our new home!!!
