32-Weeks!!!

The count down is about to begin!!! Only 7 more weeks before Kinsey's big arrival! And, only 5 more weeks of work!!! Yippee!!! I can't wait for June 7th which will be my first day off work and I'll have that entire week to myself to get ready for a brand new baby in the house...unless she comes early like Beck did.

We did our usual belly shots and I have to say that the belly is getting quite large! I've had two people ask me if I'm sure there's only one baby in there and several people have asked why I'm trying to smuggle in a basketball. Ha! However, Dr. Nivens assures me that my measurements are right on track. I'm seeing her every two weeks now and I'll only see her two more times then I start seeing her partner Dr. Innes. (Unless Dr. Nivens has her baby early then I'll start seeing Dr. Innes sooner than expected.)
K
insey moves way more than Beck did...it is very wild to feel her move! She kicks and rolls a lot!
This is my reaction to Beck falling down by the pool...poor thing already had a boo-boo on his knee and this fall made it a little worse.

Paint...

My super hard-working husband works on our house every weekend and he has done so much to improve the looks of it! I'm so lucky that he has the skills to do this because it has saved us a ton of money. I'm also blessed that he wants to do this on the two days off from work.

This past weekend, he painted the trim on our house to match the trim on our windows and it looks awesome! Even our neighbor, Judy, came over and said she loved it and was jealous because she has the dark brown trim.

While Brent painted, Beck and I busted out the chalk and drew lots of pictures on the side walk, took a super long walk and Beck spent lots of time in his Little Tikes car. Regarding the super long walk...Beck was in his car pushing himself like Fred Flintstone and I thought we would come back when he got tired. Little did I know that it takes a long time for Beck to get tired. I asked him several times if he wanted to go back home and he said, "No" so we kept going. After going several blocks, Beck decided to ditch the car and walk. We ended up walking to the very end of our street (Stilwell) which is .5 mile so we walked a total of 1 mile! I didn't have a cell phone which didn't matter because Brent was outside painting and he didn't have his cell phone either. I was praying he would get worried about us and drive down the street looking for us. That didn't happened and of course Beck got super tired of walking and wanted me to carry him. So, I'm 8-months preggers, carrying a 35 pound boy AND pushing his car home. Needless to say, I was completely exhausted by the time we got home.

This is Brent taking a break to draw a picture on our sidewalk with Beck.
In this picture, you can see the difference between the old paint (dark brown/black shutters) and the new paint.
All done except for the door! I love it!!!

Freddy, Mine!!!

The little machine that cleans the bottom of the pool is known as, "Freddy" at our house and Brent explained to me why he's called that...When he was younger, he and his siblings loved to watch horror movies and Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street was a very scary character that always jumped out and scared you to death! His fingers were made of knives which resembles the tail on the pool sweep. So, he and his siblings decided to call the pool sweep, "Freddy" because he could sneak up on you while you are in the water and Get YOU! Or, sometimes, he pops out of the water and his tail will fling water at you.

Beck seems to think Freddy is his toy and always wants to play with it or get it out of the water. If we are near the pool, we can count on Beck to point to Freddy and say, "Mine!" On this particular evening, Beck was having a blast with Freddy's tail. But, before he started playing with Freddy, Beck wanted my camera so he charged at me with chocolate on his face and notice his fingers are crossed. Also, the broom is on the ground because Beck was using it to clean the pool!
This is Beck pointing at Freddy saying, "Mine!"

First Set of Clubs

A very sweet lady (Sandy) that works with Brent remembered Beck's birthday and bought him his first set of golf clubs. Beck has had so much fun hitting the ball around with his clubs.

Our time with Marcus...

Saturday afternoon, we watched Marcus as Jeff and Jill attended a wedding. Beck woke up from his nap and was still a little sleepy so he crawled into daddy's lap while Brent was also holding Marcus. It was sweet to see Brent holding two little ones. And, this was a small hint of how our life will be with two little ones. Beck was very kind and gentle with little Marcus.

First Swim Class

At 9am on Saturday, we showed up at the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium in Allen for Beck's first swim lesson. Beck looked so cute in his swim shirt and trunks! I've mentioned before that he likes to take things with him as we leave the house...well, today it was his little monster truck. He held that monster truck the entire time we were in the water. He also held onto me like a leech! And, he cried for almost the entire 30 minute class. This is Beck holding his little monster truck before class started and on the right is Natalie and Leigh (notice the giant water slide in the background)...
This place is really cool because it has a little water park area for the kids, a giant water slide and a lazy river. Halfway through the class, I decided to take him on the lazy river and let him feel the flow of the water. At this point, he did calm down...no more tears. This is us going to the lazy river...
Then, we joined the class as they were finishing up. Beck decided he wanted to play with the water bucket as everybody was getting out of the pool. I'm really hoping the next class will be better.

Two-year Check-up

On Thursday, I picked Beck up from Mrs. Linda's to take him to a 3:30 doctor's appointment. He was excited to see me but was not excited to see Dr. Minsky. He started whimpering as soon as we got out of the car. Luckily, his office is very fast and took us back as soon as we walked in. The first girl asked us a few questions then measured him (38" tall), weighed him (35.4 lbs) and his head is 19 3/4". He cried through everything. Then, Dr. Minsky comes in and he cries more. The doctor told us that Beck looks great (stomach, ears and mouth) and that he's off the charts except he's in the 75-90% category for the size of his head. Dr. Minsky loves Beck and always gives him a kiss and this time he gave Beck 5 stickers.

Then, the dreaded part...Gail Minsky (Dr. Minsky's wife and nurse) comes in with two shots. One is for chicken pox (given in the left arm) and the other is for Hep A (given in the left leg). She said he could possibly develop chicken pox 7-21 days after the shot is given but hopefully that won't happen!

Love...

After we got home from Gatti Town, Beck played for a little bit and then it was time to take a bath. Well, he did not want to leave Kiki so after we got him undressed, Beck ran into the living room totally naked and jumped in the chair next to Kiki! We wrapped a towel around him just in case...

Growing Up...

Kiki took a painting class in Dallas and stayed with us Tuesday and Wednesday night. Tuesday is half price night on all games at Gatti Town in Frisco so we went there for a fun family night out. After eating salad, LOTS of pizza and some dessert, we hit the play area. Beck loves to run around this place while Brent and I play games. They have fun things such as bumper cars, 3 small bowling lanes, skee ball, a ship that swings back and fourth, many, many games and a carousel. We've tried to put Beck on the carousel before but he didn't enjoy it but this time we couldn't get him off of it!!! That's the best part of being a parent...watching your child grow up.

Wednesday night, Brent and I got to go on a real date! We went to Studio Movie Grill, ate dinner and saw Clash of the Titans in 3D. Great night out! Thanks Kiki for baby-sitting!!!

Notice how he holds on to the harness...

Pool Cleaner

I've said this before and I'm sure I'll say it many more times down the road but Beck absolutely loves to help especially if we are doing something outside. He has watched his daddy clean the pool a few times so now he thinks he can do it too! Check out our pool cleaner/daddy's little helper...
We also needed to add some water to the pool so we had the water hose in the pool but Beck wanted to play with it. Brent and I watched him play then Beck turned on us and tried to get us wet! He laughed so hard when we ran from him!!!

Blessing for Marcus

The Sunday after Beck's birthday party, we all met at Jeff and Jill's church to witness Marcus receive his blessing. He was a trooper because I never heard a peep from him. Our son, on the other hand, was quite the entertainer during church. He drove his school bus around (on the floor and on the back side of the pew), he also played with his new monster truck that he got for his birthday and gave this sweet little baby sitting next to us his monkey but quickly took it away and said, "Mine!" which is one word we hear on a daily basis. We took lots of family pictures then headed to Jeff and Jill's for lunch. They had the most delicious bar-b-que, potato salad, cole slaw and orange salad.
Jill's brother, Michael, and his wife, Emily, flew in from FL for the big event and they sat behind us at church along with Jill's parents. Michael is wonderful with kids!
After lunch, we went home for a much needed 2-hour nap. We were completely exhausted from Beck's birthday party. {I think I over did it that day!}

Birthday Party for Beck

One of Beck's all-time favorite show to watch is the Backyardigans which consists of 5 characters who imagine that their backyard becomes an adventure place. So, for Beck's 2-year birthday party, we had Backyardigans balloons, plates, cupcakes and a Pablo pinata (Beck loves Pablo!) at the park near our house.

The kid's (Ava B., Lola, Anderson, Natalie, Madeline and Ava D. - Marcus and Addison are way too small to play) played while Brent finished cooking the burgers and hot dogs...
After lunch, we dug into the yummy cupcakes made with love by mommy...Then the kids hit the pinata...Brent was the winner of beheading Pablo! (After the party, Brent hot glued the head back to the body and Pablo is now hanging in Beck's room.)
We didn't get a family shot so this is as good as it gets...Beck got some awesome gifts to include clothes, Trike, giraffe limbo, crayons, chalk, bubbles, tool belt, trucks and lots of clothes!
Thanks to all that came to the party!!!
