A neighbor/friend told Katherine she was selling a train table for $30 so we got it while we were there for Otto's blessing. We had $40 so the nice lady let us have it for $20! What a deal! As you can see, Beck and Kinsey love it!

Otto's Blessing
On Sunday, September 4th, we went to Brian and Katherine's church for Otto Duran Bishop's blessing. Between the Bishop family and Katherine's parents, we filled up one really long bench seat and Brian, Otto and Pops sat in front of us.
Afterwards, we took some family pictures outside and Katherine had dinner ready for us. We ate steamed rice, orange chicken and watermelon then hit the road to head back to Gilmer. Good times with the family!

Our Sleep Over at the Bishop House
We drove to Plano on Saturday, September 2 for Otto's blessing and we asked Jeff and Jill if they could baby-sit the kids so we could go on a date. Luckily, they said yes so we were able to see Harry Potter...the final movie. It was awesome! The date and the movie! When we came back, Kiki and Pops were there baby-sitting and Jeff and Jill went to the mall. The kids had so much fun playing.
And, we got to see Jeff and Jill's new furniture...
We had planned on staying at our house but I realized that it would probably be easier for us to stay with Jeff and Jill since we have no tv, no toys and no high chair. The last time we stayed at our house we had to clean up our mess and leave before people showed up to view it. So, we blew up the air mattress for Beck and Kinsey slept in the pack n play. I was not prepared for the cold conditions in Jeff's house but luckily, Marcus had super warm pj's for Kinsey...she looks so cute in the Cowboy pj's!!!

Friday Night Family Fun Night
On Friday, September 2, we ate dinner at Ryan's and I usually steer clear from all-you-can-eat buffets but I was eager to check out this place and I was surprisingly satisfied. It was especially nice for the kids because I let them try all kinds of food...well, I'm mainly referring to Kinsey since Beck is our VERY picky eater. Oh how I miss the days of him eating whatever we put in front of him but we did manage to fill his little belly so that made mommy very happy. Shrimp was the featured item at Ryan's and boy did they have a selection...fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, shrimp gumbo, popcorn shrimp, etc. I was in heaven!!! I wish I had taken a picture of my plate filled with shrimp but the only picture I captured was this one...I made a bad decision of letting Beck eat jello in the car seat! He made the biggest and stickiest mess! Brent was not happy with me (smile).
After dinner, we went to our favorite place in Longview...Wet Pets and Critters! This place is like a petting zoo and I love it because the kids have so much fun while we are there. They have lots of interesting animals and I overheard the young girl working there that the white macaw is only 4 months old...wow, just a baby! Brent didn't hear her talk about the bird and he told me the bird must be old because it was clumsy after he had played with it. It was clumsy because it was so young.
Kinsey loves, loves, loves dogs!!! I can't emphasize the excitement she expresses when she hears a dog bark. I'd love to get one because she loves them so much but I really don't want dog hair in the house. I'm hoping that when we get our own house that we can get an outside dog.
Beck and I were looking at the tarantulas in little plastic boxes stacked on top of each other. I happened to look away and focus on something else when Brent yelled at me from across the store telling me that Beck had knocked over one of the boxes! Oh my goodness, my heart began to race because I thought the tarantula was loose! Luckily, the lid did not pop off and the tarantula was still in the box. Whew!
This bunny was in for a treat tonight! Beck and Kinsey were so sweet to this soft little bunny. Kinsey even used the one finger approach but the best part was when we asked them to give the bunny a kiss. Beck gave the bunny a gentle peck on the nose then Kinsey went in for the wide, open-mouth kiss!!! I am so glad I captured this picture! Brent and I laughed so hard when she did this...she even had her eyes closed!
The most interesting creature in this store was the giant lizard in this giant case towards the back of the store where the cats are located. It was so new that there wasn't a sign to tell us what it was or how much it cost. We need to go back and check it out again!

Chuck E Cheese
On Wednesday, August 31, we met Lola and Kiki at Chuck E Cheese in Longview and I wanted to get there somewhat early to beat the rush...Ha! There was one girl there with her mom! I wondered how this place manages to stay open when they have no lunch business but I guess they make up for it when they have birthday party's at night and on the weekends. The pizza isn't the best but the entertainment is totally worth it! Beck has this thing down!!! I have to watch him because he likes to put the coin in the machine, try to figure out what to do and if he can't then he walks off! He went thru his cup of coins way before Lola did and we put all of the tickets together and all Beck wanted was a little box of Nerds which I knew he would not like to eat since he doesn't eat/like candy.
Kinsey did a great job of running around doing her own thing and luckily we were the only ones there because it's hard to watch two kids in that place. She thought it was fun to walk up and down the skee ball ramp.
Our tasty sausage pizza...
We all had a good time but then all good things must come to an end and unfortunately, Lola went home after playing at Chuck E Cheese. We will miss you and can't wait to see you again!

Play Date
On Tuesday, August 30, we went to Heather's house for a play date with Lidia and MacKenzie. Jarod built a toy for the girls to play in the living room and Beck fell in love with it. It was really cool but way too many little bitty parts to keep up with or lose...I could see Kinsey trying to eat the itty bitty parts so I was picking them up as they were falling on the floor.
Then, we moved into the play room and they had something that Beck loves...trains! They had lots of fun toys! The girls room is very cute and I wish had taken a picture of their beds because they were so cute! The headboard had a window in it and Kinsey was climbing up in it.
Apparently, the girls get a mid-morning snack so they sat at the table to eat some pudding, yogurt and cheesestick and Beck just kept playing since he doesn't like to eat anymore. Kinsey, on the other hand, wanted to be just like the girls so she sat in the little chair and ate some goldfish.
Heather busted out the coolest toy and I'd love to get one...it's an elephant that holds "butterflies" and blows them out of his trunk. The kids each held a net and tried to catch the butterflies. They were laughing and having so much fun!
They also have a cute fishing game but Kinsey kept trying to eat the fish! I love this really large bean bag...it looks so comfy and the kids loved getting on it!

A Foot on the Table
Kinsey thinks she is on cool cat! Not only is she in the stage of wanting to use the spoon to feed herself which makes a huge mess but she also props her foot up on the table! She is a mess!
