Parade of Stars

04.22.13

On Monday morning, I took Beck to school and Kinsey did not go to dance class.  We just hung out all morning.  After taking a 3-hour nap, she asked for milk and she hasn't had any in five days so I reluctantly gave her some.  Big mistake!  It immediately came right back up.  That was the final straw.  We headed to the care clinic to find out what is wrong with her.

Beck is happy because he's not seeing the doctor today.

The doctor wanted to do a strep throat test but she would not open her mouth to let the nurse stick a swab in the back of her throat.  I kind of don't blame her.  So, he called in a prescription of antibiotics and I gave her a dose as soon as I picked it up. Daddy is working on the house tonight so we ate dinner then I had to take Beck to his school at 6pm for a presentation by all of the classes.  As soon as I sat down, Kinsey curled up in my lap and went to sleep.  Poor thing is completely exhausted from being sick.

Luckily, Kinsey woke up right before Beck's class came on stage and I was able to move close to the stage and video this little boy singing so loudly.  Hearing him sing brought a smile to my face!

The theme tonight is Parade of Stars.  Each class sang a classic nursery song such as The Ants Go Marching One By One and Beck's class sang a song about the planets.  His line was, "Nine little planets, the first stop is Mercury, planet number one."  So proud of my little rocket man!  And, Beck was so happy to see Pops was there to see him sing.

After we got home, he gathered up his favorite stuffed animals, made a bed in the laundry basket and told me that's where he's going to sleep tonight.  Ha!  He actually tried to sleep in the laundry basket but quickly crawled into bed as soon as I turned off the light.  Said he was scared.  I gotta give him credit for his creativity and for trying.
