Wild Wild West

07.24-27.12

This week's topic at Beck's preschool is Wild Wild West and they have a lot of fun things in store for the little kids.  Plus, Beck's cousins, Ava and Lola, are in town this week.  Before I go any further I have to confess...as I was copying and pasting pictures from my phone to my computer, I somehow lost 170 pictures!!!  Urgh!  I am so bummed!  So, I won't have very many pictures to post of our fun week.  I had to resort to getting pictures from FB, Instagram and pictures that I had in my text messages.

On Tuesday afternoon, we met Kiki, Ava, Lola and Jaici at the movie theater to see Brave.  This is Kinsey's very first movie theater experience!  I sure hope she lasts through the movie!  Kinsey started out sitting with Ava and she ate her popcorn and Ava's chocolate candy.  It was really cute to see them sitting together.  Then, Kinsey decided to play musical chairs by sitting with Ava, Jaici and Kiki for less than a minute then switching.  She finally sat with me a for few seconds but then she was off again.  Kiki calmed the little munchkin and she ended up sitting in her lap for the rest of the movie.  Brave had a couple of scary parts but overall it was a really cute movie.  Beck loved it!

After the movie, we headed to Kiki's house for some pizza and cinnamon sticks.  The kids had a blast playing dress up!  At one point, Kinsey took off all of her clothes including her diaper and ran around the house.  Beck, Ava, Lola and Jaici thought is was so funny.  Kinsey enjoyed the attention so she kept running around.  Then, she stopped to show Pops her private parts.  Oh my goodness, this girl is a mess!

On Wednesday, Beck's class took a field trip to Kid's Station in Longview.  They left school at 10am and returned a little after 1pm.  I was so excited to see him get off the big bus and he was just as excited to see me!  He was the last kid to get off the bus and ran to me.  I love getting those kind of greetings!  Poor thing was so hot because the air conditioner wasn't working to full capacity.  He said he had a lot of fun playing and they ate pizza while they were there.

Thursday was wear your cowboy clothes day.  I found a cowboy shirt at the western store on the square and Daddy got him some boots.  All of the kids in his class looked so cute dressed up.  The picture below is the one that Mrs. Mason took.  She provided the hat and bandana.

I picked Beck up before they ate lunch so he could eat lunch with Ava and Lola before they headed back home.  I'm glad he and Kinsey got to see them before they left.

After Kinsey woke up from her nap, I took the kids to Lake Gilmer and Beck wanted to walk to the pier.  I had some really cute pictures of them trying to fish with long blades of grass but like I said earlier, I lost 170 pictures.  Grrr!  We did see some fish swimming through the moss and they loved it.

On Friday, a cowboy stopped by Beck's class to show them how to use a rope.   He really enjoyed school this week and has already asked when is the next school field trip.

On the way to Neena's house Friday afternoon, I stopped by a kid's store and ended up buying 4 pairs of sunglasses for Beck and Kinsey because they were on sale for $0.99!!!  Beck LOVES his new glasses and it was so cute hearing him try to teach Kinsey how to put them on correctly.  Kinsey is a hoot when it comes to taking pictures!

Friday night family fun night turned into Friday night date night since we have big plans tomorrow!  Neena and Stephen fed Beck and Kinsey dinner then took them to the pool while Brent and I ate dinner at Johnny Carino's then we had to do some birthday shopping.  This was our third date this month!!  Wowsers!
