Jefferson with Neena and Aunt Vickie

07.23.12

Last week, we found out that Mrs. Mason (Beck's pre-school teacher) will be off on Monday's instead of Friday's.  I usually keep Beck home on Friday's since his teacher is off so he can have a 3-day weekend but I decided to keep him home today since his teacher isn't working.  On Friday, I asked Mom if she wanted to do something on Monday since I'm keeping Beck out of school and I threw out a few suggestions.  She jumped on the idea of going to Jefferson.  On our way to Jefferson, we picked up my Aunt Vickie.  We got there so early that most of the stores had not opened yet but the one store that was open was filled with lots of candy!!!  Urgh!  The thought of Beck and Kinsey eating a big ole sucker at 10am really bugged me.  Oh well, what do you do?  Let's have fun!

Beck and Kinsey enjoyed looking in each of the stores and they found numerous things they wanted.  Beck especially enjoyed looking at the Christmas decorations. This little boy is already working on his Christmas wish list!

The most unique store in Jefferson is the General Store which is filled with all kinds of fun stuff!  We had fun playing with the sunglasses, hats, tasting the delicious butter spreads (toffee butter was my favorite) and looking at candy that you'd never seen any where else.

I'm so glad we brought this giant stroller because we did a lot of walking and Kinsey is too heavy to carry.  Plus, the stroller carried our loot and our drinks.

Finally, time to eat lunch!  Neena suggested a place that makes good burgers and this burger joint is covered with dollar bills!  We needed a table big enough for five people so we got to sit in a private room which was really nice.  Beck and Kinsey ran around after they ate lunch and we didn't have to worry about them disturbing other people.

This burger place also had some iconic memorabilia from a bust of Elvis at the register to pictures of Marilyn Monroe.

The place I fell in love with is called Pat Ann's.  I will definitely buy stuff from this place to decorate my future home.

I wanted the kids to sit in the rocking chair with me in front of Pat Ann's but they insisted on sitting on the ground!

Our last stop of the day was in Beck's FAVORITE store..the Train store!  In fact, I wasn't sure how we would ever leave this place.

At this point, Kinsey was on the verge of falling asleep and we were all getting hot so we packed up and left.  What a fun day!  This weekend is Cowboy weekend in Jefferson where they will have cowboys walk the streets and pretend to have a shoot out which sounds fun especially since Beck is talking about cowboys this week at school.
