Memorial Weekend Part Two

Saturday night, I convinced Brent to cover the bedroom window with a blanket and like magic, Beck slept until 7:30am which is much better than the 6am Saturday wake-up call. He's just like his mommy...he LOVES sleeping in a super dark room. (I was able to sleep in too!) Then, we had to quickly get ready for church which started at 9am but we did it without any trouble.

After church, we rode the golf cart which is one of our favorite activities to do while at Pops and Kiki's house. We put Beck on top of a hay bale which brought back memories for me and Brent. Brent played on hay bales just like I did when we were young. My dad started with square bales but then moved up to the big round ones and sometimes he would kill animals that were hiding in the tall grass which was sad except for when he caught a snake then it was ok. (Snakes were my worst nightmare as a child! I would often dream they were all over me and not move until mom would come in my room to wake me up.) We stopped by the neighbors and fed the donkey...Beck and the donkey love it!
W
e had heard the Yamboree grounds had built a new play area so we loaded up to check it out. Luckily, we stopped by Sonic beforehand to get drinks because it was SUPER hot!!! Beck had fun going down the slides...
That afternoon, Brent helped Pops repair the air compressor and Beck just knew somebody would take him for a ride on the cart...poor thing sat there patiently waiting.
I came outside and took him for a ride and we found a cow's horn and had to show Brent once he was done working. Lexus found it and brought it to the house.
Another one of Beck's favorite activities...bubbles!
We cleaned up that night then hit the road about 9pm so that we would have all day Monday to enjoy our last holiday weekend before going back to work. Plus, the traffic is lighter and Beck sleeps which makes the trip easier. We did not make it to Henderson to see Nana because she and Steven spent the weekend in Bossier City.

On a side note...Kiki taught Beck to say, "No no Lexus" so that's what he says every time he see's Lexus and we think it is so funny!

It was a very nice and relaxing weekend!
