Daddy is working on the house today and I've got something fun planned this morning. I signed the kids up for the Longview Mall program four months ago and this is the first thing we've done. I have no idea what's going to happen so this is going to be a "Sheri Adventure". (Brent really likes my adventures...not really.) I got the kids dressed up and we headed to the mall for Brunch with the Easter Bunny at 10am. The food court tables were all reserved for the brunch and we stood in a long line. I soon discovered the line was for this...each kid received an Easter bucket filled with breakfast type of items/treats such as honey bun, muffins, gummy bears, chocolate and a juice box. Then, the kids were directed to some long tables that had colors, markers and a piece of paper to color. By the time we got to these tables, it was time to sit in the food court and wait for the Easter bunny.
Kinsey only ate the chocolate and she gladly wore the bunny hat. It was cute to watch them get excited about the Easter bunny. Pictures with the bunny cost $25 or $30 so we opted to not do that...too bad they don't have more options.
Walking through any department store is a nightmare because Beck and Kinsey think it's so funny to run through the racks and hide from Mommy which drives me crazy!!! But, we had to do that after eating our treats because Beck had to use the bathroom which took forever. It felt like we were in there for 15 minutes! Anyway, we went to the arcade to play $5 worth of games. After getting a prize for the few tickets that we won, Beck discovered that he had lost his toy. Keep in mind that he is never without a toy in his hand so it's crucial that we find the missing toy. We walked through the arcade but didn't see it so we back tracked to the dreaded department store that has the restroom because he assured me that he had left it there but it wasn't there. That's when he remembered that he had put his toy in my purse. What a relief that we found it! As we were walking out of this department store, I noticed people in line at the information booth so I asked one of the helpers what was going on and luckily I did. The helper told me that if we are in the kids program that we could get a free all you can ride wrist band for the carnival that would be valid from 1pm-4pm. Wow, this made our little Brunch with the Bunny worth it!!! However, I would have brought a change of clothes if I had known that we would spend the afternoon at the carnival. Beck and Kinsey begged for a cookie from the cookie place so I bought each of them one and made them promise to not eat it until after lunch. We drove down the street to eat their favorite food which is chicken and it was such a pleasant meal because I did not have to say the word, "eat" one time. It was such a treat to sit down and watch them eat. (Maybe I should get them a cookie at every meal.) Then, they both devoured their cookie and I jokingly teased Beck about not saving one bite for Mommy. I'm so, so happy that they ate all of their food!
We went back to the mall and I put the wrist bands on them and we were off. The first thing Beck wanted to do was the giant slide. The operator told me Kinsey was too short to do it by herself but that I go down it with her. I was hoping to get out of it by letting him know that I did not have a wrist band but he said that was ok. Oh my, not sure I'm up for this but I'm going to suck it up and do it for her. I did not want to go fast especially with Kinsey in my lap so I tried to slow myself down by dragging my hands. Boy did that hurt!
Beck went down the slide several times. I think he is realizing that we are not limited to using tickets.
Next stop is the Fun House...his favorite! It was so cute to see him peek around the corner before we went down the slide and then he gave me a cute smile and a little wave.
I was a little leery about Kinsey riding this one and I did see her get a little teary eyed as the dragon was spinning in circles. Can you see her bottom lip poking out in one of the pictures below? But, this little cutie patootie was a trooper and hung in there.
The car and motorcycle ride are my favorites and I love to watch Kinsey turn the wheel like she's really driving.
Beck went in another Fun House and he had to show the people standing behind him how to get out of the spinning tunnel. Great job Beck!
