01.30.14
Today, we have two speakers talking about the Bliss and Miss of Marriage and they are Tom and his wife, Julie. They are head of the ministry team at the Methodist church where we meet for our MOPS meetings and have been married for 35 years.
Let's start with the devotional part of our meeting. Judy has a great message about your relationship with God. Talk to Him all of the time; call out to Him; sing to Him and praise Him every day. Please don't ignore Heavenly Father.
Hebrews 11:1, 6 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
James 2:19 - Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe, and tremble.
Matthew 7:7-11 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Matthew 25:41-45 - Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Julie is the main speaker today and Tom gave input on a few things. They are a very funny couple. The sheet they passed out says, "Bless the Mess of Marriage" so let's touch on each point.
M - money...get out of debt! maturity...grow up and don't share too much with your friends or family; it's not nice to speak badly of your spouse. Turn to Heavenly Father if something is bothering you.
E - expectations...don't expect the moon because you will disappointed when you get a rock. It's the little things that matter anyway.
S - sin...strive not to sin.
S - selfishness and/or self-centered...focus on the good.
B - be present, be accepting and be patient.
L - love...God is love; put Christ first.
E - encourage...talk to each other and/or leave notes.
S - I'm using the word intimacy so that I don't offend anybody
S - sacred
Tom and Julie usually take a weekend every year to assess their marriage and bring to the table issues they have struggled with and plans and visions for their future. It has been a very important foundational communication that has kept their marriage going strong and in unity. The assessment questions are listed below. What questions do you need to be asking yourself and your spouse? What are the great unspoken of your marriage?
1. Do my actions show you that apart from Jesus Christ, I have no higher love?
2. How well are we serving together?
3. How well am I encouraging your spiritual growth?
4. How well am I maximizing the time we have together?
5. How is our prayer life together?
6. How well am I supporting you to grow in your gifts/skills?
7. Are we disciplining our children well together? How convinced are you that parenting is truly a partnership?
8. How well am I caring for your friends?
9. How is our physical expression of love?
10. What can I do to love you better?
You don't have to agree with any of the information given today but feel free to use what you works for you.

Terrific Tuesday!
01.28.14
Today is dance day but only two dancers showed up. Humm.
We picked up Beck before lunch so he could eat lunch with us. A treat for him and Aunt Wendy. Then, I drove to the frozen water fountain. We are having a really cold winter!
I thought it would be fun for all of us to see this movie!
Beck and Kinsey really wanted to sit on the back row! Lol! That brings back memories.
Aunt Wendy had a wonderful visit!
I can always count on Kinsey to fall asleep when we are on the road. Lol!

Check Out Your Surroundings
01.26.14
We drove to Neena's this morning to eat lunch with her and I noticed this giant chair at a landscaping place. Kinsey was asleep so I took a picture of Beck then she woke up and decided to join in on the fun. One of the workers offered to take a picture of us and said I would get a coupon if I tagged this picture on facebook.
A house is being built diagonally from us which is the perfect location for a super-fast remote control truck! Lots of mounds to climb. The kids also enjoyed climbing the mounds. Lol!

I fell in love with this...a water fountain filled with God's beautiful creations!
Can you tell that Kinsey used my lip gloss?
Beck and Kinsey fell asleep after we picked up Aunt Wendy.
Beck really wanted to help me cook so I let him cut potatoes. Unfortunately, he cut his finger a little bit. Bummer!
Kinsey loves my hat and I love it on her!

Cleaning Nanny's House
01.25.14
We spent this morning at Nanny's house cleaning it and getting some stuff that we still had there such as the boat among other things.

Then, the kids got hungry so I took them to McD's.
We will have to come back another time to get the slide.
Beck and Kinsey are such good helpers!
One of the few items that we left at Nanny's and Kinsey is so happy to have it back.
Technology at the dinner table. This drives me crazy!

Fun Friday!
01.24.14
My visiting teaching companion, Melanie, invited us over for a play date this afternoon and I was very impressed with her selection of snacks for the kids and for the adults! Cookies, brownies, pretzels, chips, etc. Shannon suggested that we should do this more often and rotate between houses which sounds like a great idea. I hope we can make this happen.

The trampoline is always a big hit!
Kinsey loves swinging and riding the pony!
We left around 5 so we could meet Daddy at home then head to Gilmer.
This is our first time to meet Kiki's new puppy dog, Bella.
The kids are petrified of her! We hope they grow out of this phase of being scared of dogs.
She's pretty cute.
Beck and Kinsey love spending time with Kiki and Pops!

A Little Bit of Ice!
01.23.14
Beck said a prayer as it was falling asking God to send us lots of snow. He asked for the snow to be so high that we would have to use a shovel to get out of the house! He loves snow! A MOPS night out was planned tonight at Mexican restaurant that just opened up near our house and I was really looking forward to going but I just couldn't pull myself out in this crazy weather especially knowing I would miss the joy on Beck's face if we did get more. Unfortunately, we didn't get much but it was fun listening to the stuff fall from the sky!
I asked Beck to get the mail as little pellets of ice was falling. Lol! I enjoyed watching him run as fast as he could on his bare feet!

Making Place Mats
01.22.14
Tonight is my first time to plan a young women's personal progress activity and I did a lot of research to try and figure out what to do. I saw something that I've actually done before so I went with making place mats for the nursery room. I did this with the kindergarten moms and it was fun so I hope the girls enjoy it too.
The picture on top is the example I made for them so they would have an idea of what to do. I also provided white construction paper, markers, scissors and pictures that I cut out of several Friend magazines. The next step is to laminate them and deliver them to the nursery room.

I think the girls did a fantastic job!

Dance and New Furniture!
01.21.14
Brent has a remodel project in Mansfield so he drives there every Tuesday to check on things. Today, he stopped by the store we love in Forney and purchased the super-sized hall tree! They told him they would have it ready for him to pick up on his way home this afternoon. They did such a good job of wrapping it and had it ready as promised and I am in love with it! It is perfect for us and this house!
Our little ballerina!
(Madeleine, Kinsey, Blake and Ainsley)
She still loves Minnie Mouse.
This is the balloon ballet that will be performed at the end-of-the-year recital.
This is the pom-pom routine that will also be performed at the recital.
This little hat routine is just precious!

I went shopping a few days later and found the perfect fluffy pillow for my new bench. Kinsey loves it!

No School Today
01.20.14
Beck is out of school today for MLK JR's birthday so he went to the gym with us this morning for the first time. Then, we ate lunch at their favorite chicken place since he hardly ever gets to go there.

We planned a play date at the park with some of my church friends.
(6 moms...Misty, Melanie, Nichole, Sarah, Shellie and myself...and 15 kids!) It was a fun day!
This is what happens when you fall asleep on the floor! Beck will cover you with toys and then mommy will take lots of pictures! Lol!
