Broken Bow (part one)

11.02.13

Our leather sectional that we ordered a while back has arrived at the store in Broken Bow, OK so we are taking a road trip today.  The scenery on the way there was beautiful.  Once we arrived at the store, we had to wait and wait and wait.  The kids had a blast picking out furniture that they wanted.  I'm not really sure why we had to wait so long because we ended up following a couple of guys to a warehouse to get our leather sectional and ottoman that was in two giant boxes.

Then, we grabbed lunch at my least favorite place...all-you-can-eat pizza buffet.  You would think that this place would have an abundant amount of pizza out since it was lunch time but they didn't.  We had to wait at least 20 minutes for a cheese pizza!!!  Beck and Kinsey were so hungry that they ended up eating cinnamon sticks with icing.  Our waitress felt sorry for us since we had to wait so long and did not charge us for the kids.

After eating lunch, we drove to the Beaver's Bend State Park and it was the neatest place I've seen in a long time!  The color of the trees were incredible!  And, traveling on the curvy road that took us up and down was something that we would like to do again someday soon.  We first stopped at the information center/gift shop and it was filled with a lot of carved wood, a tree that dates back to 1653 and much more.

Behind the information center is a replication of a log home to show how people lived a long time ago.  Mud was used between the logs so you can imagine how cold it would get in the winter and it was very small.  (We are very lucky!)

We made the mistake of going to the gift shop.  Lol!  I say that because we always end up buying something for the kids but we certainly didn't mind this purchase...Beck got a whistle carved out of wood that has an eagle on the end of it and Kinsey got a wooden flute.

There's a relaxing sitting area to the side of the information center with a stage, a bridge and a small stream.  Are you surprised that Kinsey got too close and ended up stepping in the water?

We've had a lot of fun here but it's time to move on and see some more sights.
