Neena and Wendy's Visit

On Saturday, February 19th, Neena and Aunt Wendy came to our house for a visit. Beck and Kinsey got clothes for Valentines Day. Beck also got a number 7 brown Thomas the Train which he loves so much that he must sleep with it! It is so cute to see him sleep with his favorite toy. I love it!

Mom also brought an Italian Cream cake for me, Brent and Wendy from the Butcher Shop and it was delicious! This is a huge compliment to the Butcher Shop considering I'm the biggest dessert snob. Here's my motto on desserts...If you are going to eat extra calories then it better be worth it! It was so yummy that I only got two slices of it because other people in our house ate most of it! After eating the scrumptious cake, I later discovered that the Butcher Shop is currently featured in Texas Monthly magazine under the Favorite Restaurant section for the Longview/Tyler area! This is what was said about this place I have dined at many times in my life..."This errantly named burger joint should be called the Burger-N-Bakery, as it's as famous for its sugary baked goods as for its juicy, hand-made burgers." I know my mom has bought several desserts from them and now I know why!

Neena took all of us to eat at Carrabba's Italian Grill except for Brent and I'll explain that later. It was such a treat to sit at a table and be served since we only visit fast food places these days. I actually ventured out and tried something new. It was pasta filled with chopped chicken and spinach...I would order that dish again. Then, we stopped by the park so Beck could run and play before taking a nap. Of course he got in his favorite swing and stayed on it so long that a little girl came over and asked if she could get in it when he is done.

Neena sure enjoyed tickling the cutest little boy in the world...

That evening, Brent and I went to Studio Movie Grill but ALL of the movies were sold out thanks to reserved seating!!! So, we ate at a restaurant we've never been to since we've been together...TGI Fridays. It was good but I kept thinking of the 1999 movie Office Space which focuses on uniform standards and having LOTS of flair! Brent and I were cracking up thinking of that movie and watching all of the employees running around. One guy actually had on suspenders and lots of flair! Then, we stopped at a discount store (TJ Maxx) to see if we could find anything to buy with our birthday money. I bought a puzzle for Beck and a pink picture holder surrounded by white feathers for Kinsey's room. The picture holder didn't have a price tag on it and there wasn't another one so I told the cashier that there was no price tag. That's when Brent chimed in and said, "I think it's $5.99" I watched the guy get out a book and he scanned a bar code for $5.99! I was cracking up that he actually listened to Brent! I wish Brent could shop with me all of the time...I could get some really good deals!
