George's 70th Birthday Party

06.23.12

Driving up to George D.'s house is like a movie scene...so picturesque and so beautiful!  And, George's family did a fantastic job decorating the house for his 70th birthday party.  We arrived fashionably late which meant we had to park near the street and as you can see from the pictures below, that's a long walk with two kids, a heavy purse and a cooler filled with juice boxes and water bottles.  George's grandson, Stevie, drove the golf cart up and down the driveway picking up people which was very, very nice since it's so hot outside!

We sat with Brandon and his sweet wife.  Surprisingly, Kinsey walked over to the swing set and played with the other kids.  Usually, she stays by my side when we are around a large group of people.  I'm proud of her for being a big girl!

George got a band for his big party and Kinsey cut the rug...I smell a future dancer!

As we were getting ready to leave, Beck and Kinsey picked up a juicy slice of watermelon and Kinsey went to town on two slices!  She LOVES watermelon!!!  Beck, on the other hand, put his slice down after smelling it.

Big celebrity in the house...this is the guy that was on a television show called Wife Swap.  Brent enjoyed listening to the inside story of what the producers wanted he and his wife to do and how to act on this show.

At this point, Beck was ready to go!

It was another wonderful and fun evening with my husband and kids!  We certainly enjoyed our ride back to the truck since we had to park so far away.  Tiffany told me they were expecting 200 people and I'm the worst and trying to guesstimate how many people actually showed up but it was a lot!  George has many, many friends.  Unfortunately, they expected more family for the party because of a sudden death.  Sweet Randy Jo's funeral was this afternoon.  I knew Randy Jo because he spent many hours at my best friend's dad's Fitness Center in my high school days.  And, Brent knew him through church.  He will be missed but I know God has a special place for Randy Jo.

After we got home, the kids were cracking me up by sitting on the floor covering up themselves with a blanket along with their toys/dolls.  I love Brent, Beck and Kinsey so much!
