Kinsey 8-months old

Only four more months and Kinsey "Gurl" will be one year old! Wow! She is growing up so fast! The week she turned 8-months was when she finally decided to start opening her mouth for food! Yeah!!! It was so difficult getting her to eat food but it's so easy now that she voluntarily opens her mouth. Since this glorious occasion, I've been making baby food for her and she is loving everything I give her including sweet potatoes, roasted pears and bananas, peaches, peas and butternut squash (first time I've made this). We recently tried green beans but she didn't care for it so I'm thinking that I might have added too much water to it (maybe?).

Stats:

  • Height - 29" (+95%)

  • Weight - 19 lbs (50-75%)

  • Head - 17 1/2" (75%)

Dr. Minsky recommended that I start giving her table food. Is he crazy? I just started giving her baby food! So, I guess that will be our adventure until her next doctor appointment.

She got one shot (prevnar) on this visit which made me very happy. However, she looked very sickly the next day but was fine the day after that so that's a huge relief.

Friday Night Family Fun Night

After having pictures made, we ate dinner in the food court at Stonebriar mall then let Beck play in the kids play area. As usual, he had a good time. There's a store located by the play area filled with toys, games and a train to ride. For $3, Beck was the engineer and we both think he did an awesome job! It was difficult getting him out of that store.

Miss Kinsey chilled in her stroller...

6-Month Photos?

When Beck was 6-months old, I took him to Kiddie Kandids and got an awesome naked baby picture and wanted to do the same with Kinsey. However, she turned 6-months old on December 18 and there was no way I was going to fight the Christmas crowd so I waited. Unfortunately, I waited a little too long because I ended up having them made on the day she turned 8-months old. The reason why I'm upset with myself for waiting so long is because she is mobile and doesn't like to sit still which made it very difficult to get the naked baby picture. The photographer at Sears was able to catch a few good shots of her but I didn't like them because Kinsey's chest is showing. I know it's not a big deal since she's a baby but I don't want her to be upset with me when she's older. Overall, Kinsey did a great job and Beck did too!

Casey did not come to Bishop Playhouse today so I was able to move our appointment up to 5:00pm and Brent met us there. Before leaving the house, I got Kinsey dressed first and Beck told me she looked like a princess. That gave me the idea to tell him that he had to dress up like the prince. I had no idea how I was going to convince my little toddler that loves to wear his pj's to put on a suit but my idea totally worked!!! I was SO excited!!!
I also didn't know how Beck would cooperate getting these pictures made since he no longer likes giving cheesy smiles anymore but he was an awesome trooper!

Naked Baby Alert!

I remember how much we enjoyed watching Beck crawl around naked and we are doing the same with Kinsey. She is just too stinking cute!

Kinsey Girl is Growing Up...

Kinsey totally skipped the sitting phase and went straight into crawling then standing. Since she skipped learning how to sit, she has fallen backwards several times which means we have to be by her side most of the time!

At the Park...

There are several parks near our house but the one that is Beck's favorite at the moment is off of Spring Creek before you get to Custer. Not only does this park have 3 big slides but it also has a secure swing for a big toddler and Beck LOVES it! He will let us push him in that swing for as long as we can. I especially like this one because we can feed the ducks and Beck likes to do that and try to catch them which is hilarious!

Sweet little Kinsey is totally bored sitting in the stroller...she would much rather be on the go!

I can't remember why Beck got so mad but here are a few pictures of him throwing a fit...it's funny to see him get so upset. One time he threw himself on the ground then stood up and said, "I mad!" I responded, "I understand you are mad but you still need to..." (I can't remember why he was upset but he did what I asked him to do after he threw his fit).

After the Party...

Pops and Kiki came to our house Saturday evening to baby-sit the kids so Brent and I could go out. We went to Studio Movie Grill and I enjoyed our evening out but I'm no longer a fan of SMG. They now offer reserved seats for additional $12 and that goes towards a soda and your meal which is great if you are going to eat. ALL of the good seats are reserved seats so if you don't pay extra for a reserved seat then your only option is sitting in the VERY front or the VERY back of the theater! We opted to sit at the tiny table in the very back of the theater. It was cool that nobody was next to us but the very tall man and lady in front of us got in the way so I had to scoot my chair next to the wall to see the entire screen. I wonder if others feel the way I do or am I being too uptight about the reserved seats?

Anyway, Pops and Kiki had so much fun with the kids. Beck showed them his GeoTrax train and he played with Kinsey.
