The weather is terrible today for the big graduation party we have planned for the Joy School kids. We planned on meeting at the Spring Hill park like we usually do on Friday's but it's raining so we opted to meet at the church pavilion. It was raining when I loaded up the kids but stopped by the time we got to the church...thank goodness! Beck hates getting wet and I couldn't find the umbrella so I had to carry him to the car using myself as an umbrella. Oh the things we do for our kids!
Mrs. Heather has done an outstanding job with Joy School and I'm so happy that she included us! She spent ten weeks with the kids, Beck went to Mrs. Amy's house two weeks and the kids came to our house for two weeks. Not only did Mrs. Heather order graduation hats for the kids but she also made the cutest photo book which we will treasure forever.
She printed a certificate of completion and a report card.
Mrs. Amy brought gift bags for each child which included a coloring book with colors, a bag of cookies and play-dough.
Mrs. Breedlove brought fruit for the kids to snack on and I brought peanut butter rice crispie treats.
What a great group of kids!
The water fountain was quite entertaining for the kids! They ended up spraying water on others which was oh-so funny (to them).
I brought a soccer ball, a basket ball and a pink ball to play with since there wasn't much else to do at the pavilion. Beck enjoyed kicking the ball down the hill but do you think he ran after it...no!
Thanks to Heather, Amy and Trish for making this happen and for all of your hard work!

Last Day of Joy School
04.19
Today is the last day of Joy School and it ended here at Nanny's house. We had to condense the lessons so that MacKenzi could finish before moving to Houston. Unfortunately, MacKenzi could not be here today. We've been doing two to three lessons per visit for the past month and today seemed to be the easiest. It was a lot of work preparing for the activities and stories but I am so sad that it is ending. All of the work was totally worth it! The original end date was in June and when we started in January, I was concerned about us not being here. Well, guess what? We are still here and will be for a few more months.
We always end our day outside because it is too nice to stay inside and today we went exploring. We tried to catch a butterfly, tried to find a frog, tore down the beanstalk and pretended to be on the beach! They loved it!!!
It was fun while it lasted and I will definitely miss these kids (Claudia, Grace, MacKenzi and Rebeca)!

At the Park with Aunt Wendy
After Beck's soccer game, Brent drove to our Plano house to make repairs that the inspector found so we can get it sold. I am so thankful that he put in so much work on the house and grateful that he has the ability to make the repairs which will save us a lot of money. With that being said, Wendy and I took the kids to Longview and made the mistake of going to the mall without the double stroller. I only wanted to go in one store and both kids ran around like they had been locked up their entire lives! So, we quickly left but had to walk thru Dillard's to get to our car and Beck and Kinsey ran as fast as they could screaming as loud as they could. I bet the people in Dillard's couldn't wait to see us leave! Then, we ate dinner at Ryan's...not my top choice since I've never been a fan of buffets but this seems to be the best place to eat with picky eaters. We stopped by the pet store and had so much fun petting the animals especially the cute little fluffy puppy's and I fell in love with a very sweet black cat that had kittens earlier this year. We've seen her many times before but have never been able to hold her until today. She was SO super sweet! Beck felt her purr and Kinsey gave her lots of kisses. I would have brought her home with us if the price was right. This place wanted $50 for a cat that I could get for free from the people that sit by Wal-Mart giving away kittens.
Can you tell where we went next? Yep, we hit the park!
We had a fun-filled evening and I know the kids will sleep great tonight!

First Soccer Game!
04.14
It's show time! Kickin Kangaroos are ready! However, the Gators were missing several teammates so we had to split up our team and put them on the Gator side. It was a gorgeous day and we really enjoyed watching Beck play his first soccer game.
Notice Beck on his toes...
Beck got to throw in the ball...
Kinsey enjoyed taking off Daddy's hat! Notice all of the parents on the field in the background?
Halfway thru the game, Beck told the coach he wanted to be goalie but he did not want to wear the bright yellow goalie shirt. Later on in the game, he asked me if they were done playing then he told me he had something in his eye.
Beck played the entire game and he even kicked the ball in and scored!
This is way too funny! The dad is on the phone while the kid is hanging on his leg.
Kickin Kangaroos scored several points thanks to Tyler but the main thing to remember is that the kids had fun playing. Both coaches agreed to let each child kick a ball in the goal which is an awesome idea.
Wendy enjoyed her $2 nachos and Beck couldn't wait to get back to his Transformer! Good game boys and girls!!!

Soccer Practice
04.12
Today is the last practice before the first game on Saturday and the team (Bears) that practices before we do thought it would be a good idea to scrimmage with our team (Kickin Kangaroos). What a great idea! This way the kids will get an idea of what will happen when they play another team in two days.
Just like Beck, Tyler turned four right after sign-ups so they are both on the three and under team. Tyler happens to be the ringer on our team! I can already tell that he will score many points for the Kicking Kangaroos!
Coach is about the throw the ball in and Beck is ready to kick it...
Nice pose from Beck during the scrimmage...
And, nice pose from Kinsey during the scrimmage. He-he!
Beck can't wait to get a juice box after practice is over!

Kiki couldn't miss them play and Kinsey has her ball too. The little girl sitting next to Brent is the sister of the boy (Tyler) that plays on Beck's team. They are children to somebody that I went to high school with and his name is Harold H.

I love Beck's stance in this picture...

Before we went to practice, Kinsey found a pair of shoes in my closet, put them on then paraded from the bedroom to the sun room. She is obsessed with shoes like Beck is obsessed with Transformers! She especially loves wearing my heels and it is so funny watching her walk in them because she does a great job! I think we are in trouble! Like a friend of mine said a few days ago, she's a "mini me".
