Having a pool is a lot of work but luckily Brent doesn't mind and Beck loves "helping" so we spend lots of evenings hanging out by the pool after dinner.
Beck absolutely LOVES his CAR! He drives this thing every where...in our house, down the side walk and by the pool...he manages to get his car to the upper level of the pool.
He loves his shoes so much that he gets very upset if we don't put them on...

My Sweet Co-Workers
Friday afternoon, Todd and Eric put together a really cute gathering for the office to wish me well before I go on maternity leave. They reached out to Brenda for some decorating help and she also made this yummy drink which consisted of Sprite, maraschino cherries and maraschino syrup. The petit fours came from Stein's and they were very tasty!
This is Brenda Glossup...
The dessert table...Susan Dederen (I've known Susan since we worked together at Steak & Ale) and Dan Fitzpatrick (Director of Purchasing)...
Office Peeps...I am blessed to have such sweet and kind co-workers.

Kinsey's Room Update
I wanted to post a few pictures of Kinsey's room since it has changed since the shower last Saturday and we now have her dresser! It's finally getting there...I just need to get a skirt for the crib (on back order).
Now the bow holder has LOTS of bows...
This is her gorgeous dresser...
We had the bookshelf in the corner of her room but decided to move it after the dresser arrived...

Baby Shower for Kinsey
Kathleen, Natalie Riley Seely and Tiffany Davlin very generously offered to host a baby shower for me and baby Kinsey Faith.Kathleen came in Friday night and we ate dinner at On the Border then went home to take care of our sick little boy. Beck developed a fever Wednesday night so he was not himself until Sunday...that was his first day of not having any fever. Whew! His throat was so sore that he could barely talk...it was so sad seeing him that way but I did get lots of snuggle time!
The shower was held at Natalie's house on Saturday at 11am and she lives one mile from me so it was very convenient. Mom and Wendy arrived at my house around 10am and they drove me to the shower which was a nice treat. The food consisted of an assortment of sandwiches from la Madeleine with Tomato Basil Pesto Pasta Salad, spinach salad, fruit tray, dips, crackers and yummy cupcakes. It was exactly how I had envisioned it...a small group of ladies so that I could talk to everybody. The shower was very, very nice! My biggest regret is not taking any pictures. I got a few pictures from Kathleen...
We received many wonderful gifts from diapers, wipes, clothes, gift cards, bath towels, etc. I would like to show off some of the hand made gits...
I am so lucky to have such talented friends!
After the shower, I drove Mom to Linda's house so she would know where to go when she's here to take care of Beck while I'm in the hospital. Then, we drove to the hospital and toured the maternity ward. Beck was born at Baylor downtown Dallas which is very far from our house. Since I have a new doctor, Kinsey will be born at Baylor in Frisco which is really close to our house and a fairly new facility so the rooms are super nice! All of the rooms have wood floors, flat screen tv and a web cam for those that want to view Kinsey on their computer.
After showing Mom the ropes, Brent and I headed to Stonebriar mall to see the movie Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. It was a great movie and we enjoyed getting out of the house. Mom enjoyed getting lots of snuggle time with Beck.

This is Kinsey's very first tutu with onsie and matching bow given by Tracy Moore Martinez (not sure who made it).
Jennifer and Katherine gave me these bows/headbands and wipe holder made by Katherine's friend (2 little mama's).
These are the things that Mom had personalized for Kinsey (photo album, bib, burp cloth and onesie).
We received so many wonderful gifts and want to thank everybody for making this journey so exciting! After the shower, I drove Mom to Linda's house so she would know where to go when she's here to take care of Beck while I'm in the hospital. Happy Mother's Day!
Brent had to take a mandatory class Friday night (5:30-10), Saturday and Sunday morning (9-1) so Beck and I had lots of bonding time this Mother's Day weekend.
Friday night, we got my SUV washed, finally got an inspection sticker (had been out since September 2009), picked up both our medicine (my nausea pills and his antibiotics for a nasty nose) then we got dinner at Wendy's. We got home at 7pm and Beck ate all of the kid's hamburger (minus the pickles) and most of the french fries! I was so proud of him because he normally doesn't eat that well for us...Linda tells me he does a great job of eating for her but I think that's because he's at a table with all of the other kids.
Saturday morning, we got ready to meet Leigh, Natalie and Anderson at Waters Creek for an arts festival. Beck ran out of the garage, fell down as soon as he hit the driveway and really scraped up his knee. I have to give him big boy credit because he didn't cry. He kept saying, "hurt" and holding his knee that was bleeding. So, we stopped by Wal-Mart to purchase some spray-on Neosporin and that's when he cried...when I sprayed his knee. The arts festival was a bust (very few artists and very pricey) but we did have fun feeding the ducks and letting the kids run around while we listened to a band perform. Leigh gave me a sack full of girly stuff for Kinsey (tights, socks, lots of burp clothes and so many bibs that I could not wash them for a solid month and be just fine!). Beck and I went home, ate lunch then took a nap. While we were napping, Brent was pulling up the crab grass that will not die! Jeff, Jill and Marcus showed up at 4 and we headed to Studio Movie Grill. We got home around 7, tried to get Beck to eat dinner but he wouldn't.
Sunday, Beck and I played all morning then we went to Boston Market for lunch. Took a nap but I got up when I heard Brent come home. He went grocery shopping for me! He took a nap and by the time he woke up, dinner was ready. I made a casserole but it was very dry because I forgot to cover it while it baked. Bummer!
Maybe next year, we will get to do more things as a family...

"Five years ago today I held your hand on the island of St. Thomas and said "I do" to the most beautiful, kind hearted person a guy could ever ask for! Thank you for choosing me and standing beside me through the years. I love you very much and Happy Anniversary!" - Brent
Being 8-months pregnant, we couldn't do much for our five year anniversary so we celebrated our anniversary by meeting for lunch at Olive Garden (thanks Mom for the gift card!) and then we saw Iron Man 2 Saturday night (thanks Jeff, Jill and Marcus for watching Beck!). We love the action type of movies...In fact, we saw XXX starring Vin Diesel (2002) on our very first date!
This is the beautiful necklace that Brent had made for me in honor of our five year marriage and for Mother's Day...it has all of our names in the heart.
I had a sign made and we hung it in our entrance...We love it!
I'm looking forward to seeing what the next five years brings us!!! I love you very much Brent Bishop!

Enjoying this Nice Weather
We are trying to take advantage of being outside as much as possible before it gets too hot! With that being said, we went to the park by the YMCA thinking Beck would enjoy the slides, swings, etc. but he was more interested in running on the soccer fields. Luckily, they were free except for one and Beck bolted on the field as soon as the soccer ball came near us!
After we got home, Brent started lifting Beck up to our roof and letting him fall and Beck LOVED it! I hope you enjoy the video...

Swim Class
Swim class has officially ended and here are my thoughts...I did not enjoy getting my 8-month pregnant self in the icy cold water but I did enjoy Beck latching on to me like a leech. I did not enjoy the first class because Beck cried almost the entire 30 minutes but I did enjoy seeing him progress the second and last class. He learned to kick his feet in the water and he walked in the shallow water the second class. He learned to climb out of the pool in the third class which took a lot of strength considering we didn't use a Little Swimmer diaper so his regular diaper probably added an extra 5 lbs!
This is the only time Beck smiled during the entire class and this is my favorite picture because he has the biggest smile!
His favorite toy was the water bucket and he would have loved going down the water slide but they wouldn't let him do that during class. They said he was too young but if we went back in the afternoon then he could use the slide.
I wish I knew how to consolidate several small video clips into one but I don't so here are many video clips of the last class and pay close attention to Brent's commentary [he cracks me up!]...Oh and the last video has to do with the rock climbing wall that is located at the front of the Natatorium. Beck always wants to climb it so Brent helped him until the girl at the front desk said we couldn't do that.

First Hair Cut
That's right...Beck is almost 25-months old and he's just now getting his first hair cut. Poor thing looked like Charlie Brown for the longest time. My dear friend, Tracy Martinez, cut his hair at 8:15 Saturday morning. [I've known Tracy since we worked together at Steven Maxx Salon when I use to be a manicurist and that was 15 years ago.] Beck absolutely hated getting his hair cut as I thought he would but he looks very handsome with his new do!
We first started with Beck sitting in my lap...the reason why he has swim clothes on is because we went to swim class after seeing Tracy.
Beck thought he was safe in Daddy's arm's but here comes Tracy again!
