Carnival and Noah

I love that Beck enjoys a little carnival! Before we bought tickets, I got the feeling that Beck didn't want to ride any ride and that he just wanted to play the games so, we headed for the midway. The very first game we approached had exactly what Beck wanted...a light saber! Then, the next game we got a stuffed Nemo but after walking off, Beck realized that he wanted the dolphin but the dolphin wasn't in the category that we won so that's why Beck is so upset in the picture below.

One of the rides made a really loud noise and Kinsey latched on to Daddy! She was so scared! At this point, it was time to drive to Gilmer to go see our nephew, Noah. He will spend spring break week here and I have a feeling Beck will be in heaven. He LOVES to play with Noah! They immediately exchanged toys when they saw each other. So sweet!

Wright Family

Later that evening, we ate dinner at Pappacita's with the Wright family. My uncle Kerry was in town from Brazil and since Neena was in town from Costa Rica, she planned a family get together and it turned out to be a very large group. I was really hoping we could have been in one of the private rooms but they were already booked. Bummer! We were the last ones to show up so we had to sit at the end of one of the long tables. Poor Kinsey was so terrified by all of the new people and noise that she wrapped herself around Neena almost the entire time. She finally relaxed when I got her and that's when she ate dinner. Only one brother is missing from the picture below and that's uncle Marty from Georgia...and, Pam may she rest in peace.

Not all of the cousins could be here but we did manage to get a group picture of the girls that I grew up with and spent many nights with these girls.

After we finished dinner, I took group pictures of each family and I'll start with the first-born which is my mom aka Neena...

Kerry's wife couldn't make it tonight so he was solo. Next is Trish and her family...Joey left the restaurant before we went downstairs so he is missing from the picture as well as Robert.

Hair Cut and Fishing

03.10

Beck and I started this Saturday morning off very early...he woke up at 6:30 needing to use the bathroom then I gave him a little bit of milk in hopes of him going back to sleep. He fidgeted with his toy for 30 minutes and that's when I gave up. I got ready and took him to the barber shop on the square for a much needed hair cut. There were two barbers working and one informed me to have a seat and that the other barbers were coming in...at some point. We waited for 30 minutes and I gave up again. We drove around trying to find another place to cut his hair but this small town doesn't start this early in the morning. I went to the Donut Shop but Beck told me he didn't want donuts and he mentioned getting juice. I have a problem buying juice when I have juice at home so we went back home and accomplished nothing. I whipped up some pancakes and sausage for breakfast. Brent and I came up with a new game plan...go to the storage unit to try and find my old Stars drill team scrapbook, get Beck's hair cut then go to Gilmer Lake. We were unsuccessful finding my scrapbook but we did find my Star of the Year award which is the very first one given out. It's nothing fancy...a piece of painted plywood. I'm certain the award is much fancier now and the girl chosen for this honor today also receives a scholarship!

Beck got a really good hair cut at the barber shop and we headed to Gilmer Lake Park to do some fishing off the pier. Beck started off trying to fish but quickly lost interest. He and Kinsey wanted to play with the bait (fake worms). A few were thrown in the water by the Kinsinator!

I took Kinsey to the swings and she always enjoys that...

Then, we all played in the sand...filling Beck's big dump truck with sand then adding water. Beck told us he was making soup for the raccoons and that they would be so happy! I love his imagination!

Snow in the Kitchen???

03.06

It's Super Tuesday! This is the day the largest simultaneous number of state presidential primary elections are held in the U.S. Brent was glued to the television in the bedroom so I decided to join him for a bit knowing it was not a good idea to leave the kids alone. I think I had been in there for five minutes when we heard Beck say, "It's snowing!" I immediately knew that I did not want to see what they had done. Brent looked first then told me that I needed to grab the camera. This is what we saw...

Notice the empty plastic bag on the floor...that was a brand new package of powdered sugar! Have you ever tried to vacuum powdered sugar? It goes every where!!! It would have been easier to clean up if Nanny didn't have carpet in the kitchen.

Can you also see that Beck hardly has any sugar on him but Kinsey was covered from head to toe in the stuff? I'm pretty sure he was throwing the sugar on her!

This is what happened when Daddy smeared the sugar on Beck's face. He was not happy!

Heather's Baby Shower

03.03

Heather has been so sweet and kind to me and my family that helping host this baby shower was a pleasure.

Heathers Shower2

I busted out the chocolate fountain that Brent gave me for Christmas. I was a bit nervous since this was my first time to use it and it turned out to be a hit! The punch made by Bonnie was oh-so-yummy and Veronica did a fabulous job with the decorations. I looked forward to trying Kelli's cucumber sandwiches and hoped they didn't have onions but they did. However, I'm trying to step out of the box a little these days and tried it anyway...way too crunchy! I later discovered they also had celery which I not only dislike to eat but can't stand the smell! I wonder what a cucumber sandwich would taste like if it were just cucumbers and cream cheese? Sounds yummy to me.

Heathers Shower

Mom told me about Edible Art a few years ago and I've always wanted to order from this place and this is where the cake came from. It's super cute and delicious!

Heathers Shower1

The shower was held at Bonnie's husband's business, Pilcher Chiropractor, in the conference room.

Heathers Shower3

We played Baby Bingo while Heather opened gifts and the ladies were so competitive! Overall, the shower was fabulous and Heather received many things she needs for her sweet little boy.

Friday Morning Fun at the Park

03.02

Today's science project is digging for dinosaurs...Roar! Beck loves dinosaurs so he really enjoyed this one and I love that his shirt says, "I Dig Dirt". The weather was super nice today but super windy.

Going to Henderson

03.01

The count down begins...Neena will go back to Costa Rica in 15 days. Boo! We always spend as much time outside as we possibly can for obvious reasons and on this visit, Stephen borrowed his sons four-wheeler. I was shocked when Beck did not want to ride it! Wendy loved it especially when I drove it because I go faster than Stephen. So, we spent lots of time in the old shed which Beck and Kinsey love because it's filled with lots of "stuff". Kinsey really enjoyed going up and down the old, rickety stairs with Neena's help.

Beck really enjoyed playing with the "chompers"...

henderson3

This little tricycle is super old and I love it! It would take some work to get it fixed it up and I realized it would probably be about the same price to just buy a new one.

henderson4

It made me smile to see Kinsey sit down next to Wendy but she can't sit still long and then she was off to get into more "stuff"....

henderson5

Neena gave the kids gift bags to put their rocks in and they both loved them.

henderson6

henderson7

This makes me nervous...Beck and Kinsey, motorcycles look cool but they are very, very dangerous! Please make mommy happy and never ride one. Thank you!

henderson8

henderson9

I managed to talk Beck into sitting on the four-wheeler but he jumped off quickly when I talked about riding it. Four-wheelers are fine in my book...they have four tires and are not allowed on the dangerous highways.

We had a good visit and a fun day!
