It's a beautiful day but we are going to skip going to the beach and do some sight-seeing.
Our first stop is the Pensacola Lighthouse Museum est. 1859 (adults $6; children 12 and and under $4). It is the oldest light station and tallest lighthouse on the U.S. Gulf Coast and it remains an active aid to navigation. It's powerful light is visible 27 miles out to sea.
It's a tight squeeze going up and down these stairs! The kids were completely exhausted after going up 177 cast iron steps! Then, we had to go down 177 steps! Beck and I had to do this bare-foot because flip-flops are not permitted on the stairs.
We enjoyed looking at the old furniture and historical weapons.
Our next stop is the National Naval Aviation Museum (free admission).
