Kinsey's Dance Recital (part one)

She looks way too grown up with make-up!

I really like the theme of the program.

I was told to get to the auditorium early but we do not know what early is so Kinsey and I managed to squeeze into a tiny spot surrounded by tables, costumes, chairs, blankets, make-up and curling irons!  It was a sea of madness!!!  I seriously thought I was going to lose my mind!  The worst part is that I tripped over a curling iron cord but I could not tell which was the hot end and picked it up.  Yes, I seriously burned my fingers!!!  I was not a happy camper!  And, there was NO mustard to help take the burning pain away!

Luckily, Anne has been doing this for years since she has three daughters and she knows exactly where to go which I will totally grab next year!  If I can get there early enough. Ha! A big thanks to Anne for sharing her hide-out with us!

All moms have to stay back-stage which is a bummer.  I really like how it was done in Gilmer.  There were teenage girls that were in charge of the girls so the parents could sit in the audience and enjoy the show.  I'm glad I took pictures of Kinsey dancing at the rehearsal last night!

Ainsley and Anne

Aubrey is Melanie's daughter and she plays at our house probably once per month.

Even the hallway was a sea of madness!

I'm so proud of Kinsey!!!  She told me many times that she did not want to get on the big stage but she did and she did a great job.  I was surprised that Mikel cried because she does not seem the type to be scared.  I really felt sorry for Kelly (Mikel's mommy) because she is having a huge fundraiser at her house tonight!!  She is stressed to the max!!! 

We changed into the finale clothes so we could join the family during intermission.  Plus, Kinsey's next performance is 10 dances later.  Can you tell she's happy to see Daddy???

We are so excited that our cousins could be here!!!

So, I was a little off on timing.  I thought I had enough time to get her changed before her Mickey Motion performance but our group was heading to the stage as we walked back to change!  Yikes!  It's a good thing I can get her changed quickly! She's ready to go on the stage again!  Thank goodness!

They did such a great job and Mikel didn't cry this time!

Kinsey's Dance Recital Rehearsal

This is a really big day for us!  Beck's Kindergarten graduation, Kinsey's dance recital rehearsal and Brent and Beck have a father/son camp out at the Brookshire's park on Lake Palestine!  Wow!  Neena is going to watch Beck until Brent comes home from work since Kinsey and I will be at the Caldwell Auditorium.

Kinsey must be hair and make-up ready for the rehearsal which really helps all of the moms figure out how much time to allow to get ready for the big day tomorrow.  This is my first time to curl her hair!!!

Poor thing is worn out!  She took a short nap on the way to the auditorium.

The girls are not allowed to wear their costume until they are inside the building.  We put on the t-shirt and shorts that will be worn for the finale since that's the first thing they will practice.  This allows moms to leave after their daughter practices their last dance instead of everybody waiting to practice this finale piece.

We ended up eating dinner with Mrs. Melanie and her girls.  It was a really fun girls night!  

Beck's Kindergarten Graduation

On our way to school for a very special program planned for Beck and his classmates.

A flag is put out every morning to let parents know that school is officially open (some parents try to drop off too early!).  It was exciting to see this particular flag this morning!

The graduation program looks very nice!

All of the kids did an outstanding job singing several songs!  I loved it!

Do you see the diploma in his hand?  It's official...Beck will be starting First Grade in August!

It's so hard to believe that I graduated from high school with Jeff McClure 25 years ago and now our boys are graduating kindergarten together!  How crazy is that?!?!
