It's the first day of spring and we have a lot planned! MOPS, park and soccer practice! How's that for one day?
Question of the Day: How do you make sense of God when terrible things happen? God has a plan and we must rely on Him at all times even through the really hard and difficult times. He loves us and wants us to trust Him. Making us struggle also makes us stronger. All I can add to this is to Pray, Pray and Pray more.
Devotional Time: We should lean on God and not worry about things. God gave us power, love and self-discipline.
Dr. Marty Dunbar is our speaker today and he's going to address a topic that is a problem for some but not for me...."How to get your husband to church". Luckily for me, my hubby has a strong religious background. We are very active in our church so it'll be interesting or boring to hear what is said today.
Dr. Dunbar talks to us about
9 Ways To Get Hubby In Church (what happened to the top 10 list?):
1. Express your feelings and be assertive. Hubby loves to hear how you feel! John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
2. Focus on Jesus and always pray; prayer grounds us. Ephesians 4:15 "But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ."
3. Be an example. There is nothing more powerful than watching your spouse live the faith. Be bold in your faith. It's hard to argue with somebody's passion. I Peter 3:1-2 "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear."
4. Support the men's ministry; sign your hubby up for an event such as flag football or volunteer work.
5. Don't assume your hubby will accept Jesus the way you do.
6. Create a home. Go to bed early so you can get enough rest for church on Sunday.
7. Encourage them. Proverbs 12:25 "Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad."
8. Serve with them and invite them.
9. Let go and let God. Explain why your faith is so important. There is only so much you can do or say; turn it over to God.
He also recommended a couple of books...
Waking the Dead and
Beautiful Outlaw.
It was very interesting to hear what he had to say and the stories that some of the ladies shared. I'm going to pray that Beck stays strong in the church and that Kinsey finds a husband that already has God in his life. Love, Momma
