Road Trip Home

We scooped up the kids and left the condo at 6am but of course our kids woke up.  However, they went back to sleep after being on the road for a while.

We rolled into G-town around 4pm and picked up some firecrackers.

We got some fun things for the kids such as sparklers and smoke bombs.

We found a package for Kinsey's birthday from Uncle Jody and Aunt Gigi.  I think Kinsey Girl loves her gift!  Thank you for the dress-up clothes, adorable book and the fun mirror!

Leaving early worked out really well.  It was nice to get home before dark but it's definitely time to go to bed since we've had a long day.  I'm looking forward to seeing my family tomorrow.

Last Full Day at the Beach

This is our last day to enjoy the beach, make a few more memories and relax in the luxurious condo.  So, let's make the most of it!  We told the kids the indoor pool is closed so we can get lots of sun.  As we walked to our very unused canopy on the beach, I picked up some great looking treasures.  I love collecting shells!  And, Ava's tiny crab is still alive.  Did I mention that we went looking for crabs the other night?  Being on the beach at night is so cool.  There are many family's with flashlights looking for crabs running across the white sand.  Our brave hunter, Beck, was the first one to catch a good-sized crab.  I was completely impressed with his skills!  I can hear him now squealing, "There's a crab, there's a crab!"

Like father, like son...they are working on digging a big hole again and Otto loves it.

Ava is on a mission to find a critter.

Look what Kinsey caught...a football!  Ha!  She put the football in her net acting like she caught something.  This girl is a hoot! 

This is what ended our time at the beach...a really big jellyfish!  Uncle Brian caught this after Beck got stung.

So, now we are going to play at the main pool.

You have no idea how much I'm going to miss "this" and when I say "this" I mean everything we've experienced this week.

We are hanging out in the lobby waiting for Daddy to get his truck which is parked across the street for one more adventure...dinner and hit the souvenir shop.

We plan on getting up really early to beat the crowd of people leaving this condo tomorrow.  This little mamacita does not do well on little sleep so it's bed time for me and the kids.  Good Night! 

At the Beach on Thursday

This is what we sleep with every night...lots of animals!  Kinsey has a pink bear, a pink whale, a Minnie Mouse backpack that she got for her birthday and a small, gray elephant.  Beck has his favorite puppy dog, his new bird from the zoo and Spooky the cat.

We took the kids to see Monsters University and it was a mediocre movie in my opinion.  This is not a movie that I would want to own.

After the movie, all of the kids wanted to go up the escalator and down the stairs.  It's the simple things that are so entertaining.

We hung out in the lobby while Daddy parked his truck across the street.  I'm not sure if you can tell but the couch has glass legs, the lamps are huge and the curtains are divine!  I love it!!!

We took Beck and Kinsey to the beach and Daddy dug a really deep hole.

He is also the only one that has used the kiddie pool thus far.

Riding the waves on a float which was entertaining but didn't last long.  Kinsey got scared and wanted off.

Then, we met up with the other Bishop family at the place that our kids love...the indoor pool.

They are acting like they are going to get me!

This girl can scream and she loved hearing herself scream in this area because it echoed and it was LOUD!!!

What's for dinner?  It's shrimp night!!!  I love this tradition but it wasn't as enjoyable as it usually is and that's because I got some sad news today.  Neena called me while we were at the beach and she hardly ever calls me so I answered it knowing that it must be important.  She asked Stephen if she should call me and he said not to because it might effect our vacation but she did anyway.  Ha!  Does that sound familiar?  I do the same thing.  I always ask what I should do but I almost always do what I had in mind to begin with.  I'm really trying to work on that though.  Anyway, she let me know that her mom, Lucille, (my only living grandmother) had passed away.  I wasn't surprised because I had heard that she was in bad health.  In fact, I was the one that told that information to Neena and my Aunt Trish less than a month ago...both had the same reaction.  Lucille was not the best mom to her kids so the distance grew over the years.   Of course she was on my mind all afternoon and by dinner time I had all sorts of thoughts going through my mind.  Many people have regrets when a loved one passes on.  The last time I spoke to her was four years ago.  All of my grandparents are gone and Lucille was the only one that met Beck.  (I'll write more about this in another post.)  We are on vacation and I want to make great memories with my family.

Only one more night here and then it's back to reality so we took a family photo wearing the t-shirts Brian and Katherine made for us tonight.  Luckily, a very sweet lady offered to take our picture.

I love my family!!! You can bet on me giving Brent, Beck and Kinsey an extra big hug tonight.

At the Beach on Wednesday (part two)

Our condo gave us a list of activities for each day and we just happened upon one of them this afternoon.  It was a shark race at the main pool!  Ava, Beck and Lola participated and did a great job.

Then, we ended up at the one place they love the most at this condo...the indoor pool.  The following pictures were taken by Aunt Katherine.

After dinner, Beck and Kinsey chilled out with Daddy while I went to the beach to take some family pictures.  I am so nervous!!! 

We ran to the grocery store tonight to pick up a few things and visited the koi fish in the front lobby of our condo.  Yes, Beck wore spider man pj's to the grocery store.  I love this boy and Kinsey so much!
