Halloween is such a fun holiday and I especially enjoy putting decorations in the yard and dressing up! There's a kids store in Plano that has the best costume selection and the prices can't be beat! This particular store had their big sale on this beautiful Saturday so Neena came over at 8am and we headed to Dallas. Our first stop was at the kids store to try and find costumes for Beck and Kinsey. It was SO crowded!!! But, I managed to find some really cute costumes and the prices were spectacular!
Then, we stopped at la Madeleine for lunch...yummy! I've been craving the chicken Caesar salad for quite some time and sitting on the patio was such a treat!
After filling our bellies, Neena wanted to look for some shoes at DSW and Kinsey did exactly what I thought she'd do...she tried on every shoe she could get her hands on! The really funny part was that she would walk around the store with high heels on and all of the costumers loved it. They were all very impressed that she walked in the heels without falling or stumbling. She looked like she was born to walk in these shoes!
Brent and Beck had a father/son day and it sounds like they had a lot of fun! They went to a sporting goods store and got Beck a baseball tee so he could practice hitting baseballs, ate lunch, met a friend and looked at the houses he's building, played at Kid's Station then they saw a movie. Beck was pretty tired and ended up sleeping through the movie.
I'm so glad Neena went to Dallas with me and Kinsey Girl and she said she had a lot of fun too! Beck and Kinsey were ready to try on the costumes I brought home. Beck's favorite is Darth Vader which includes a voice changing mechanism for a mere $8.50! BTW, Daddy and Kinsey love the mask too. Neena actually talked me into getting this costume because I found one with a smaller mask thinking Beck would never wear this large mask. Thanks Neena for knowing which one to get! I got the Minnie Mouse dress for Kinsey because she loves, loves, loves Minnie plus it was only $4.50. Her favorite is the pink poodle costume and Scooby which I bought for Beck because he loves Scooby but it's too small for him. The pink poodle costume was the most expensive costume I got and it was only $12 which is such a deal. I think my shopping trip was a huge success!
For dinner, we ate at a new little restaurant here called Angelo's Italian Pizza and Pasta and it was actually really delicious! Finally, a decent place to eat in this little town. Give it a try if you are in the area. Brent ordered lasagna, I got lobster ravioli and the kids ate cheese pizza.
On Sunday afternoon, we took our bikes to the gas station to air up the tires and we went for a ride in this neighborhood. Carrying Beck and Kinsey in the bike trailer is a lot of work for Mommy since their combined weight is around 75 pounds! This could be the best work out yet! Beck tried to ride with us on his little trike instead of his big Transformer bike that he got for his birthday but he had a really hard time going up the big hill and ended up in the bike trailer with Kinsey. (Notice Beck and Kinsey still think they need a jacket even though it's not cold outside.)
Now this is dangerous...do not try this! How many rules can one family break on a Sunday afternoon bike ride? Apparently, many!
What a fun-filled weekend!!!
