Brent's co-worker, David N., invited us to his annual 4th of July party at his lake house in Emory. David's lake front property is beautiful and fully decorated for the party. Beck and Kinsey had to taste the dessert before eating dinner. I took a picture of the cute desserts but forgot to get a picture of my banana pudding.
Daddy set up our chairs and we ate tamales, bbq beef, chips, dips, etc. Then, David's sweet wife gave Beck and Kinsey bubbles!
We rode the golf cart to the pier to check out the water.
While we waited for it to get dark, Beck hit a few balls and that's when we met a sweet little boy Beck's age by the name of Gavin.
Kinsey ate a cupcake and ended up getting blue icing all over her face and hands. I took her in the house to get cleaned up and she grabbed some chocolate candy on the way out. Once again, she made the biggest mess with the chocolate so I had to take her back inside to get cleaned up.
As the sun slowly set, we busted out some sparklers and that's when Daddy burned his thumb really badly.
David and a friend ended up spending $2k on fireworks so needless to say, we were really excited to see the show. However, we had no idea how much we would get to see since Kinsey isn't a big fan of loud noises. Once the fireworks started, Kinsey cried a little and said, "inside, inside, inside" a lot. I kept reassuring her that everything was ok and comforted her as much as I could. She finally gave up and laid her head on my chest and we saw the big finale. We had about an hour drive home and she was still awake when we got home at 11:40pm!!! Beck was exhausted and fell asleep as soon as we hit the road. It was a great 4th of July party!
