After looking at the schedule of events, I noticed a PeeWee Swine Class was being offered at 8:30am. I had no idea what it was about but I wanted to check it out with Beck. Wendy stayed at the house so I didn't have to drag Kinsey out in the cold weather. Beck and I watched the first group of kids go into the arena. Each kid was paired up with a swine and a high school student. We watched them guide the pig around by using a stick. Beck told me that he did not want to do that which was fine. Then, the second round of kids were called into the ring and the lady said, "Is there anybody else that would like to do this?" I asked Beck one more time and he said he wanted to do it! I talked to the lady, paid the fee and put Beck in the arena. He turned around and asked me to come with him but I told him I couldn't. As I said that, the lady said I could go in there with him so I was the only parent that got to follow their child with a video camera! Yeah! Beck did an AWESOME job guiding the pig around! He wasn't scared and wasn't afraid to "spank" him! There was one pig that ran really fast and it looked like he was going to run into us and I got it on video. Beck's helper grabbed him and I jumped a little while filming. I am so glad we went up there but at the same time I thought about Brent the whole time. I knew he would have loved being there to see his son guide a large pig.
All of the kids received a trophy and a parent sitting next to me asked Beck if he wanted to pet a pig. He called his daughter over and asked her to take Beck to her pig. When she opened the gate to her pig's cage, I could tell that Beck did not want to get in the cage with the pig. Then, the pig bolted! I felt so bad that we caused so much disorder. The dad said that it wasn't a big deal. Oops!
I saw the area set up for pictures of each Grand Champion taken with Queen Drew. I had to get a picture of Beck with his trophy here. My little Grand Champion winner!
