The Buckeyes are playing the bi-district game at the Longview Logo football stadium against the Atlanta Rabbits and it's Veterans day. Beck and Kinsey really enjoy going to the games...they clap when everybody else claps, Beck enjoys seeing the band and Kinsey dances when they play a song. It was a little chilly (55 degrees) tonight so that's why we are all bundled up.
I always get nervous when the game beings because the other team always looks better but then Gilmer pulls through and ends up winning. We left after half time but Gilmer ended up winning 48-14.
The majorettes did a routine with three batons and they are going to a twirling competition the next day. Best of luck to them! Since Gilmer's band is a military band, they did a special tribute to the vets. And, the band director invited the 8th graders to march with the band during the half time show which is why some kids are wearing jeans.
The Stars performed a pom-pom routine that we had seen at the first home game and did a great job. This is also the same routine I saw them practice when I visited with Mrs. Lane so I was very familiar with this one.
It was a fun night and I hope the Buckeyes go all the way to win State Champions!
