The Creature Teacher

06.19.13

Once again, the library provided an excellent presentation about animals from the Creature Teacher.  The lady presenting was so patient with the kids and offered to walk around after telling us about each animal.  She started with a super soft chinchilla which Beck, Kinsey and Wendy loved!

Then, she showed us how limber a ferret is which was really neat to see her twirl it around.  I love that Kinsey enthusiastically raised her hand to be the next one to touch the stinky ferret.

Tanner, Sarah's son, found us and sat next to Beck.

The tarantula that loves to give high five!

This chameleon could not be touched.  The oils in our skin hurt it so she walked around so that we could all get a close look at it. (He looks like Pascal from the movie Tangled.)

The presenter saved the best for last.  The one creature that everybody wanted to see...the snake!  After she ended, we went up to her table to get a closer look at the creatures.  Beck and Kinsey touched the snake!

They also got to pet the chinchilla one more time.

And, Beck wanted to give the tarantula a high five and she was sweet enough to bring the tarantula out one more time.  When I gave the kids a bath, I asked them what was there favorite animal and Beck loved the tarantula and Kinsey loved the chinchilla.

The next day, Neena, Aunt Vickie and Aunt Wendy watched the kids play while I got my toes ready for the beach.  (We leave tomorrow!)  Then, we all ate lunch and shopped til we dropped.  Literally.  It's so exhausting shopping with young kids but we had fun looking around.  I'm hoping the kids will take a nap as I drive Aunt Wendy home and then we will drive home.
