We drove to Ft. Worth last night and the hotel we are staying at is the same hotel that I booked for the 2008 la Madeleine General Manager Conference. How crazy is that? I did not receive the same type of treatment which is a let down and to top it all off, the Groupon I had purchased included a golf course view room but the guy at the front desk didn't know what he was doing and gave us a parking lot view room. What a let down! Oh well, we arrived at the hotel at almost bedtime and had to leave after breakfast so we wouldn't be able to enjoy the view anyway.
We spent way too much time in a sporting goods store buying gloves for Brent and hand warmers because it is really cold today. We got side tracked looking at the animals and guns! Someday, we'll take Beck and Kinsey here because I know they would love to see it.
The traffic to the Rice Owls vs Air Force game was terrible!!! And, finding a parking spot was almost worse but luckily, we asked a police officer where to park and he led us to a great area. We finally made it to the stadium and our backpack was loaded with water bottles and security made Brent throw all of them away! Bummer!
Because of the traffic and not finding a place to park caused MANY people to arrive late but we didn't miss too much.
Brent's college football friend, Judd, sat next to us! What are the odds of that happening?
The game was really exciting and the best part about it is that Rice won (33-14)!!!
After the game, Brent ran into several of his football friends.
Outside the stadium, a stage was set up and the band performing was Le Freak! This girl that absolutely loves to dance had to check it out and it was so much fun! I must admit that I was thinking of Neena watching the kids and I knew that we had to get back home.
After we took several back roads to avoid the traffic, we stopped at a gas station for some oh-so-yummy hot chocolate! This gas station even had a whipped cream machine! Yes! You can bet I hit that button several times. A big thanks to Neena for watching the kids!
