Brent had to work for a couple of hours Friday morning then he headed to Plano to pick me up so that we could go to Nascar like we did last year. You have no idea how excited I am to be able to spend an entire day with my hubby...what a treat! A big thanks to Jill for watching Beck and Kinsey!
As soon as we arrived at Bob's condo, David took us down to get our Hot Pass which allows us to go anywhere including standing on the race track if we want!
The drivers were practicing when we got there so we spent some time at Bob's garage/trailer checking out the scenery.
As we walked around, I took pictures of the names I recognized...
We ate lunch at Fuzzy's Taco Shop and I had the best chicken nachos! This is the view from Bob's condo...
We went back down to the infield and I recognized Lesa from the tv show Storage Wars. I asked if I could take a picture and her husband told Brent and I that he would take a picture of all of us!
Now it's time for the cars to qualify for the big race on Sunday so we walked to pit row and Danika's car was two cars away from Bob's car. She got all of the attention! She's the only female race car driver and she's in many tv ads these days and that must be why all of the cameras were swarming around her.
Bob's car (#95) was in first position for a little bit then moved to 30th position by the time all drivers had qualified. Bob was very happy that his driver, Scott Speed, qualified to be in the race on Sunday.
Not sure who this is but Brent told me to take a picture of him because he's probably a popular driver...and by the way, we walked right past this guy since we had the Hot Pass unlike the people standing behind the fence getting his autograph.
The truck race was the big event tonight and that started sometime after 7pm. It was the most incredible moment being so close to the race track and hearing the trucks zoom by us! It was also so loud that Brent had to scream in my ear for me to hear what he was saying.
The trucks are going so fast that it looks like a blur as they whizzed by us.
I can't remember the last time I spent an entire day away from both of my kids and I sure missed my little stinkers. We were all happy to see each other when we got back to Jeff and Jill's at 9pm. Thanks again for taking care of our little angels!
