At the last minute, we decided to invite Kiki, Pops, Neena, Stephen and Aunt Wendy to help us celebrate Kinsey's birthday. I picked up Wendy Monday morning after dropping Beck off at pre-school and we did lots of shopping. Not only did I have to buy Kinsey's birthday gifts but I also needed to find something for Beck because I knew he would be sad if he didn't get a present to open. After looking at many stores, I finally remembered the dump truck that he wanted last week. Kinsey was a trooper during our shopping spree.
After lunch, I picked Beck up and took him to the library to see a movie we had not seen yet called Hop. At one point, Beck told me the movie is long which means he was either bored or tired or a combination of both. He is also part of the summer reading program and he can pick out a prize for every two hours of reading. The prize he picked today is a water filled frog. He loves this new toy!!!
Then, we picked up the birthday cake, a couple of helium balloons and a dozen balloons that I blew up. We ate dinner then waited for the party to begin.
Just as I suspected, Beck was super sad when he saw Kinsey's birthday gifts on the table.
We finally busted out the new growth chart that I had made for Kinsey. She is 3' tall at two-years old which means she could possibly be a 6' tall woman.
Then, it was time to open the gifts...Neena got the cutest personalized sign made for Kinsey's room.
And this little boy was SO SUPER HAPPY when he opened his gift. The dump truck was a big hit with Beck!
Kinsey was so upset when we sang Happy Birthday to her...she was scared. However, she devoured her cake once she calmed down.
After everybody left, Kinsey wanted to try on all of her new clothes while Daddy put together her new pink trike. It was really cute to watch the two of them push each other. By the way, Kinsey did a lot more pushing.
But, when she did get to ride it, she rode it in style!
What a fun night! We look forward to celebrating Kinsey's birthday with her cousins in a few weeks. Happy Birthday to our sweet little princess!
