Our church hosted an event called "Sundae on Sunday" and we thought this sounded fun. We discovered that this is held two times per year and it's an ice breaker for the new people. Everybody wore a name tag and the new people had to tell a little bit about themselves. Round tables were set up with clear plastic cups and a water pitcher. The rectangle tables off to the side of the room were set up with all of the fixing's for the perfect sundae...bananas, whipped cream, M&M's, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, blueberries, cherries and chopped nuts.
Once everybody sat at one table for a few minutes, we were told to rotate to another table so everybody had a chance to visit. Since we had two kids, it was much easier for us to stay at our table. Plus, Beck had a science experiment going on with his water cup. He first filled it with water and tried to drink it with a spoon. Then, he got the bright idea to put one M&M in it and noticed the water turned orange. That's when it got crazy...he filled the cup with more M&M's, chopped Oreo cookies and other toppings he stole from Daddy's sundae and tasted it. He was cracking everybody up saying it tasted like chocolate. (Everything tastes like chocolate these days; even his bath water and he doesn't like chocolate!) Towards the end, he did say it was yucky.
Kinsey enjoyed eating puffs and bananas covered with whipped cream...yummy!
Beck has never been interested in ice cream until tonight. As we were helping put up the tables, Beck expressed interested in eating ice cream so we got him a small cone with vanilla ice cream. He licked it and liked it!!! We were shocked! Since it was time to go, he had to eat his ice cream in the car and luckily we only live five minutes from the church. What a fun family night!
