Dallas Zoo

We had talked about riding the Dart to the Dallas Zoo but because of all of the stops between Plano and the Dallas Zoo it would end up taking us 1.5 hours to get there so that was out of the question especially with Kinsey. Then, we decided to park Brent's truck there and he and Beck would ride the Dart home after we left the zoo. All of this was because Beck LOVES trains!!!

Traffic was somewhat bad on the way there so Kinsey was able to take a nap which made me so happy.

The first thing we did when we got there was ride the carousel and this was the first time we were all going to ride it but Brent backed out at the last minute. Kinsey and I were about two animals away from Beck. Beck insisted on riding in the nest which turns. The girls that rode with him turned the nest while the carousel turned and Beck was laughing hard at first. I noticed that he started focusing on something then he slumped over and I thought he got sick so I told the operator to stop the carousel!!! I was the first one to jump off with a baby in my arms and ran to check on Beck. He was crying SO hard!!! I felt so sorry for him because I know what it's like to get motion sickness...not fun!

Beck quickly recovered and was back to his normal self when we got to the penguin exhibit. This was the first time I noticed a life-size stand-up of the tallest penguin (Emperor) and Beck isn't that tall yet but will be soon.

We made our way to the monorail which we've been wanting to ride ever since we became members and it wasn't busy at all. It was so exciting to get on without having to stand in line! Beck was super excited because he thought it was a train but also a little apprehensive because he wasn't sure what was about to happen. We saw some really cool animals and water areas that can't be seen by walking around. I can't wait to ride it again!

By this time, it was time for Kinsey to eat lunch so we went inside the air condition gorilla exhibit to cool off and to feed Kinsey. We saw a gorilla leaning on the window and Brent banged on the window...big mistake! The gorilla quickly turned his head to see who did that...the gorilla did not look happy. I wish I could have touched him! Now that would have been really cool!

After checking out the two elephants, Beck wanted to play on the elephant statues...and Kinsey just hung out.

We ate lunch at McDonald's then headed home/train station. We drove to 75/Lovers and noticed Beck was asleep so we ended up not riding the Dart after all. We'll have to try it again another time.
