Our Christmas

On Wednesday, December 22nd, we opened our gifts after dinner. Brent and I really enjoyed watching Beck's reactions and he sure knew what to do especially since he had already opened gifts from Neena and Aunt Wendy. He was excited to see every gift...even the new Mickey Mouse pj's!
Sweet little Kinsey was quite happy on the changing pad swinging a tissue paper back and forth with one hand. I had to keep an eye on her and make sure she didn't eat the tissue paper.

Then, she got curious and started checking out Beck's new toys...she especially loved the Elmo microwave. This girl can really get around these days!

Brent gave me weights which is what I wanted since I don't get to visit the gym anymore and I really miss it! Beck likes my 5 pound weights!
Merry Christmas!!!

A Boy Loves Hats and a Tool Belt

The other day, Beck put on his John Deere hat and tool belt...too cute!!!

Cooking with Mommy

Beck has started wanting to help me cook which makes me happy that he wants to be in the kitchen with me. But, it's also a little extra work especially the clean up part. One night, I was making the cupcakes for mom and Wendy's visit and Beck wanted to crack open an egg. Luckily, Brent helped him do it and then he wanted to do it again. Then, I gave him the egg yolks since I only used the egg whites and he had fun letting it fall out of the egg into a bowl. I told him to stir it with a spoon and he thought it was fun to "break" the yolk!

On this particular evening, I was cooking dinner and Beck wanted to help so I gave him a little pot, a measuring cup with a little water and some corn starch. Boy did he have fun with these ingredients!!! Brent and I also discovered that corn starch and water mixed together makes a gooey mixture which was kind of difficult to clean up but it was worth it.

Not the Best Hiding Place...

As we headed to church Sunday morning, Brent put Beck in his truck and that's when Beck saw lots of sacks/toys from Toys R Us!!! He hit the jackpot! We totally forgot to move the toys from Brent's truck which led to a major upset when we took them in the house. We told Beck that he could open one gift IF he was good in church. We were also kind of hoping that he would forget about the toys but of course he didn't and wanted a gift as soon as we got home. We quickly put the remote control dinosaurs in a gift bag and let him open it.

I also got a shot of Kinsey right after I changed her clothes...

Christmas with Neena and Aunt Wendy

Mom and Stephen will spend ten fun-filled days in Costa Rica so we had our Christmas celebration at our house the weekend before Christmas. Neena and Aunt Wendy showed up Saturday morning (December 18th).

It was fun watching Beck because this is the first Christmas that he's kind of understanding what's going on. We showed him many, many houses decorated with lights, blow-ups and lots of Santa's. His all-time favorite to see are the blow-ups especially the two that we have in our yard...Santa and Frosty stayed blown up all day! And, our neighbors have a Nativity blow-up and Beck loved seeing baby Jesus! In fact, one day he wanted me to tell our neighbor to blow up baby Jesus. He is a mess! Beck would also bust out singing a Christmas song in his deep voice whenever the moment hit him...while we are at the store shopping, he once started singing to a lady that had a bad customer, while looking at Christmas lights or at the house.

Beck wanted to open his first gift with scissors which I thought was hilarious! And, the first gift he opened was a Thomas the Train track which he loved.
Mom put a lot of effort in decorating her gifts.

This is our first time to see Wendy's hair cut really short.

After opening gifts, Charles Torrello was in town so he stopped by to see all of us and then he and Brent went to eat lunch. Brent enjoyed catching up with his long-time friend.
While the kids napped, Brent and I finished Christmas shopping for Beck which was really nice. I love getting to spend one on one time with Brent!

Then, we all made a big dinner...honey ham, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, rolls, deviled eggs, cookies and Christmas decorated cupcakes. It was fun and delicious!

Mom and Wendy left Sunday morning and we went to church. When we got there, we discovered that they were having the Christmas program and I just happened to dress Kinsey up in her Mrs. Santa outfit which was perfect! However, I was totally bummed that I didn't know about this or I would have invited mom and Wendy to see it...I know they both would have loved it! We have some really talented people in our church. I definitely want them to see it next year!

This Is What I Love...

I love watching Beck love on Kinsey...he's so sweet and gentle with her! He loves to give her kisses, he some times licks her head and he's a good helper when we ask him to give her a toy or bring us her diaper.

He likes to stand on his activity table and turn on the living room light...

Beck Loves Trucks!

The other day Beck was busy playing with his trucks while I was busy doing stuff around the house. It wasn't until I put him down for his nap that I noticed what he had done with his trucks...He had lined them up in the hallway leading to the back door. I am so blessed to witness his creations.
