It's another picture day but this time all of the kids in Beck's class is wearing a cap and gown. By the way, Daddy and I did not go to pre-school. We learned how to read in kindergarten but according to the other pre-school teacher at Beck's school, you are behind if you don't know how to read by the time you start kindergarten. Kid's are expected to know so much more which is why Daddy and I want you, Beck, to have an advantage. Beck will go to pre-school one more year so that he will have that much more confidence when he starts elementary. I was also told that most teachers highly recommends doing this. I wonder if it will get to a point that the school system changes? So many parents are already starting their kid one year later.
Beck has learned so much this past year at First Baptist Church Child Development Center. We are amazed at what he can do now. He learned how to write his name, he can also write other words, he can read and I've noticed that he doesn't need any direction when he works on the craft at the library. Dropping him off at school when we first started was heart-breaking because he cried a few times but it slowly got better and now he gladly goes in the play area and starts playing with the other kids. His social skills have improved leaps and bounds! Daddy and I are so happy and proud of our little Beck Lee Bishop!
This afternoon, we met Bonnie at her husband's office and moved car seats into her vehicle for our play date which started at Air U. Kind of a pricey place ($20/hr for Beck and Kinsey) but our kids love it!
They especially enjoy watching the gymnasts practice.
Mommy came through on several occasions tonight...pulling kids out of the foam pit to kissing boo-boo's to letting Beck use my shirt to wipe his eyes.
Then, we picked up dinner and headed to our favorite park...Kid's View. Kinsey and Olive were so hungry that they ate their french fries all the way to the park. Our picnic table was NOT close to the restroom and Olive had to go to the restroom as soon as we started eating. Then, as we were finishing our meal, Beck had to go to the restroom. When we returned to our table, I had to run all the way to the vehicle which was NOT close and run back to sanitize our hands so we could finish eating.
