We watched the weather last night and discovered that Hurricane Isaac traveled north and now it is heading back south towards us. It is suppose to rain the entire time we are here and we are so bummed but we won't let rain stop us from having fun. It was a rainy Tuesday morning (our first full day here) so we thought we'd check out the facilities the Phoenix IX has to offer. We went to the tennis court which is located one floor above our condo. The kids had so much fun running around in this big room!
Then, we went to the workout room and Beck showed us how to use a treadmill. That's his first time to get on one of these. He was making me laugh when he showed me how to use each machine!
We needed a few things from the grocery store and Daddy gave Beck $1 so he could buy a toy. Kinsey picked out a pair of sunglasses and a baby doll. Beck found a Transformer...surprise, surprise! Needless to say, the Transformer cost more than $1 but Beck proudly gave the cashier the dollar bill for his toy. Brent and I just smiled. It looks like our next step is to teach Beck the value of money and what you can buy with only a dollar. Anyway, on the way back to the truck, we told Beck and Kinsey to hold hands...gosh they are too cute!
By the time we got back to our condo, it was time for lunch and I noticed a big tractor working on the walkway to the beach. Looks like they are digging up all of the sand that washed up from Hurricane Isaac.
After the kids woke up from their nap, we went to the beach since it wasn't raining. At this point, the tractor was done for the day. We think something on it broke and they couldn't dig anymore.
The waves are really kickin' today! Wow!
Beck and Kinsey love it when Daddy digs a big hole for them...
I asked Brent to take a picture of me in the ocean and I'm not sure what inspired me to do this but I decided to jump a wave and Brent caught this awesome shot. Way to go Brent! I also posted this picture on Facebook and got the sweetest message from a friend and this is what Trish said, "You are way to cute Sheri. So not fair for the rest of us that could NEVER pull off a picture like this. Girl you are blessed with cuteness." I was very flattered and then I started thinking...sometimes I get caught up in being a mommy that it's nice to let loose sometimes and have a little fun by doing something as quirky as jumping a wave.
Stay tuned for more about our first full day at the beach...
