Brent and I took off work on Friday so we could take Beck to the State Fair then we were going to Austin to spend the weekend at Matt's house but we woke up that morning to a rainy, chilly morning. We spend the morning relaxing and playing with Beck. We ate lunch at On the Border then headed to Austin in hopes of Beck napping for most of the trip. However, he only napped for about an hour which made the last hour of our trip a very long drive! We finally arrived at Matt's house around 5pm and he has a beautiful place. His house is currently on the market and I'm sure it will sell soon. As you can you can see, the view from his balcony is incredible. On Saturday afternoon we took Beck to Zilker Park and rode this cute little train. At the end of the train ride was a tunnel that had some cute Halloween decorations. Afterwards, we let Beck play on the playground.
Beck had an absolute blast running around on Matt's patio. The weekend went by really fast...we left Sunday morning so we pretty much only had Saturday to do anything but we did eat at our favorite Austin restaurants such as Shady Grove and Amy's Ice Cream.
Beck slept almost 2 hours on the way home but unfortunately, we were in a 5 car pile up in Waco. Thank goodness we said our family prayer Saturday night asking God to keep us safe on the way home because nobody was hurt. Beck didn't cry but it sure scared me and Brent. All of the cars involved had to be towed except for ours and that's because Brent asked the firemen to help us out. They hooked up the winch to our front bumper and pulled the metal away from the tire. I'm still working on Beck's Christmas stocking so I had shiny white sequins in a cup in my lap so needless to say when we were hit, all of the pretty sequins went all over the truck! What a mess!
This is the vehicle that caused the wreck...
We had a great time in Austin but I'm not sure I'll be back anytime soon unless we fly. That drive is too far with a toddler.
Oh my goodness! That's crazy!
