We busted out the sparklers tonight and the kids absolutely love them!
This is one happy face because Brent and I got to go out on a DATE! We ate dinner at a pretty cool taco place then we saw Hunger Games. Awesome night out!!! A big thanks to Kiki and Pops for letting the kids spend the night!

Happy Birthday Emma!
Our sweet neighbor, Shannon, invited us over for Emma's 4th birthday celebration. Brent was still worn out from our excursion today so he stayed home and rested.

I'm in love with her mother-in-law's (Alana) Christmas tree and check out all of her stockings which are all handmade! Wow! This is a very sweet and fun family that we are getting to know. Shannon's oldest son, Conner, is the same age as Beck and Emma is just 6 months older than Kinsey. I'm looking forward to many play dates since they are one street over from us.

The pizza made by Papa Murphy's which is a take and bake place was pretty good.
(Shannon, Emma, Aubry, Brooke and Melanie)
I was also impressed with the chocolate chip cookie that came from Wal-Mart...so cute and tasty!
(Patrick, Shannon, Emma, Beck and Conner)
I think Emma likes the blender we got her.
(Emma's baby sister, McKenna)

Daddy at the Brookshire's Park
12.28.13
Today is the first day since Christmas Eve that Daddy has felt better so we decided to eat lunch at a place that only I've been to called Jucys but I'm not sure that was the best place for somebody that has hardly had anything to eat. I highly recommend this place but greasy burgers and spicy pinto beans was too much for Brent's practically empty stomach.
Then, we took Daddy to the newly remodeled Brookshire's park and this will be his first time here. Next to the park is a wildlife museum filled with a variety of animals and Beck loved showing them to Daddy.
It looks like our big adventure wore everybody out. I remember my mom making me lay down on Saturday afternoons for a nap and I fought her because I'd rather do ANYTHING than take a nap. Looks like things haven't changed...I'm the only one awake.

The cool thing that all kids love about this park is the merry-go-round and it's probably because they don't exist anymore.
The two things that I love about this remodel are the covers to create shade over the play areas and the spongy walking area!
This park also has a few things that I've never seen before such as this up and down climbing thing...
A small spinning thing...
and, a slide that does not have a bottom.
I had to prove I was here. Lol! But, from this picture you can get a good view of the covers that create shade over the play areas.

Post Christmas
12.26-27.13
We spent a lot of time outside on Thursday and Friday while Daddy was laid up in bed healing. It seems like Kinsey really likes the scooter and Beck has a desire to ride his almost 1-year old Transformer bike. I've enjoyed operating Beck's new remote control vehicle while the kids scoot along on the street and taking pictures of the kids.

The kids are always trying to show us their new cool trick and this is the latest...way to go Beck!!!
It's definitely a hot chocolate kind of day!
I'm on pins and needles just waiting for somebody to show signs of catching the flu.

Christmas Day (part two)
Time to open gifts from daddy and mommy!
Beck's very first BB Gun!
Beck and Kinsey enjoyed helping daddy open the Monster Remote Control Truck that mommy gave him. Brent actually picked this out back in October but it turned out to be a dud so Brent found one that he really liked on-line after we returned this one.
The remote control snake is cool but it gets stuck in the grout.
Neena came over for lunch so the kids got to open more gifts. They sleep with their glow pets every night!
She gave both of them house shoes.
Kinsey could not wait to put on the new outfit from Neena.
They are playing with the flying fairy that didn't last long because she fell so hard on our tile floor and a piece broke off that keeps her stable. Bummer!
Neena is taking Aunt Wendy home and she really enjoyed staying with us.
I'm so glad that Neena spent the afternoon with us or this would have been the loneliest Christmas ever! Usually, daddy helps Beck together the boy toys but this year mommy had to help Beck put together some of his toys since daddy was quarantined to the bedroom. Last year, Beck was sick during New Years and this year, Brent was sick. I'm hoping we have a healthy family next year. This is a very exciting time...celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. We love our Savior and all that He has done for us. Happy Birthday Jesus!
