100th Football Season

09.21.13

We are going to the Gilmer football game today to commemorate the 100th season of football.  A football player has been selected from each class and my super-star, studly husband was asked to represent his class.

When we walked into the high school cafeteria, we saw Tom Taylor (my best friend's dad).

100th Football Season6
I thought it was going to be a chilly day so I packed jackets for all of us (excluding Brent) but it was the complete opposite.  It felt like my knees were on fire because of the sun beaming down on my black pants!

Go Buckeyes!!!

This girl is a mess!

Playing on the rocks which is a big no-no while Daddy buys lunch from the concession stand.  Yes, the police officer told them to move.  Oops!

All of the former football players were asked to gather by the football field right before halftime. (Can you spy Brent in this picture? I'll give you a hint...he's holding a cup.)

100th Football Season12
I'm not sure how many showed up but it looks like a lot!

100th Football Season13
There's our hero! (93...which is the last football season he played)

100th Football Season14
It was so weird to see the drill team girls not in uniform and the homecoming court dressed up in formal dresses in the middle of the day.  Gilmer received over 5" of rain yesterday so they rescheduled the game for today because of homecoming and the 100th season of football recognition.

100th Football Season15
A big thanks to Kiki and Pops for watching the kids while I was on the field capturing these pictures.

100th Football Season16
There's the smile that I like to see!

Proud parents.

100th Football Season18
We are so proud of Daddy!  (I recently heard that people with blue eyes are extra sensitive to the sunlight which would explain why Beck covers his eyes when we are outside.)

100th Football Season19
A sweet girl (Michelle) that went to high school with Brent offered to take our family picture.

Have You Ever Caught a Frog?

09.17-20.13

100th Football Season
I know this is not safe but it was pretty cute to see how proud she was of her tea party.  (This is what happens when Mommy cleans the house.)

My shopping buddy

We had planned on going to the Gilmer football game on this really rainy Friday night but it was rescheduled so we had to come up with Plan B for our Friday Family Fun Night.  As we drove home from dinner, I was dodging a million frogs in our neighborhood!  So, we grabbed our nets that we use at the beach, a jar, flashlights and started walking down our street looking for frogs to catch.  Our neighbors probably thought we are crazy but we had so much fun hunting for frogs!  Beck would find them and Daddy would try to catch them with the net but it turns out that our net has a hole in it; we lost several frogs.  We ended up with three frogs (one Big Daddy and two little ones) and they stayed in the jar overnight.  I told the kids the frogs need to go back to their friends the next morning and Beck opened up the jar and off they went.  Be sure to look for frogs the next time it rains...you will hear excitement and lots of laughs.

Zumbathon

09.14.13

Neena watched the kids while I went to the first annual Suicide Prevention Zumbathon taught by several Zumba instructor's including my friends, Maggie and Kayce.  I had no idea the color for this event is yellow and I just happened to wear my bright yellow tank.  Isn't that ironic, don't you think.

Door prizes were handed out halfway through the event and I was munching on some fruit saying, "Please pick me, Please pick me" and they called my name.  Oh my goodness!  Isn't that ironic, don't you think.

The kids always fall asleep on long drives and I always take pictures of them when they do.  (I love my sweet angels!)

Tonight, we checked out this high-end grocery store and it is a super cool place!  This place sells live lobsters and the kids love watching the lobsters in the tank.  We also saw cotton candy grapes.  I know what you are thinking because I was thinking the same thing.  How could a grape taste like cotton candy?  So, I took a bite of one and it totally tasted like cotton candy!!!  Then, we sat at the ice cream bar and enjoyed some tasty ice cream.  As we walked out, we noticed a live performance on the patio and they were really good singers.  Be sure to check out this grocery store if you are in the area...it's awesome!

Friday Fun Night

09.13.13

We ventured to a new place tonight called Fire Mountain and it is possibly the coolest place around here.  We started in the arcade room...Beck especially loves the shooting game!

I won 40 tickets on this big wheel!

Prizes from our winning tickets.

Then, we bought wrist bands for the kids and started on the bumper boats.  I have a video of Kinsey and I spinning in circles...not good for my weak stomach.

Fire Mountain6
Kinsey is tall enough!
Fire Mountain7

Fire Mountain8
They even have Uncle Brian's favorite ride...the Rock O Planes!  (In case you were wondering, Daddy did spin Beck a few times and he did not like it.  I, being the super sensitive person, did not spin my cage.)

Fire Mountain9
We found the oldest Twizzler ever made!!!  The operator started it like you would start a lawn mower.  The kids did not like this ride!

Fire Mountain10
This place also has two go-cart tracks...one for adults and one for kids!  It was pretty exciting watching Beck drive the go-cart!

Fire Mountain11
We ended our evening going back to the very first ride which was the bumper boats and Beck insisted on doing it all by himself.  Oh, he's such a big boy!

There's so much more at this place such as a putt-putt golf course, a space train, an indoor dark ride that goes in a circle, tea cups, etc.  I highly recommend this place if you are in the Tyler area!

A Lot of Firsts for Mommy

09.09-12.13

Dance, RS and park
I love dressing Kinsey for dance class!  This is last year's costume from the end of the year recital.

I went to my very first Relief Society tonight and the theme is Who's Who?  We were asked to bring a few things in a bag to represent who we are or things we like.  I brought weights, my la Madeleine cookbook, my fancy Julia Childs cookbook (I love to cook but only quick and easy recipes so this cookbook is never used), a sequin scarf (I love fashion and things that sparkle!) and the latest blog book (I love to document everything about our family!).  After the ladies arranged our items on a table and numbered them, we were given a sheet and had to guess which items belonged to each person there.  I've talked to a few ladies but hardly know anybody so this was very interesting.  The fun part was when the ladies got up to talk about their items.  I discovered one lady that loves the same things I do so I'm looking forward to getting to know her (Dana).  Then, we ate these precious cupcakes.  It was a fun evening!

I took the kids to the park Wednesday afternoon and we had fun.

On Thursday, I went to my very first MOPS meeting and a lot of Rules of the Road and what to expect was covered today.  Kinsey was not happy when I left her in the 3-4 year old child care room but she was a happy camper when I picked her up.  I am assigned to the yellow table and our table leader is Lindsey.  We also have a table mom (all of these ladies are empty nesters) but I can't remember her name.  Our next meeting is in two weeks and we were asked to write a question on an index card for all of the table moms to answer.  I just realized that I need to get a picture of the ladies at my table.

Fun Family Weekend

09.07-08.13

We visited Nanny before heading back home to tell her about our big event at the new press box last night.  She really enjoyed seeing the kids.  I think it's been a month since we last saw her.  I usually don't take pictures but this time I captured Beck, Kinsey and Brent giving her some loving hugs before we left.
First Week of September18

First Week of September19

First Week of September20
After eating dinner, we checked out an ice cream place since we haven't found our favorite since we moved.  (There were two places we loved in Longview.)

First Week of September21
Then, we went to a craft store to look at fabric for curtains and the kids ended up getting a box...a pink one for Kinsey and a metal one for Beck.

First Week of September22
Beck and Kinsey were not happy that I wanted to take pictures before going to church.  They look so cute dressed up and I was thinking about using one for a "We've Moved" announcement.  (I love to think of projects but usually never do them.)
