June 25th - Kinsey Meets...

Kinsey is now 1 week old...After a week long trip in Maui, Pops and Kiki came over to meet their new grand baby. Jeff, Jill and Marcus also came over and we got some cute pictures of the kids! Beck and Marcus got matching Maui shirts and Kinsey got a cute, pink onesie that says, "I surf 10 foot waves".

The Relief Society ladies from church got together (thanks to Chelsea) and brought meals for us three nights in a row. The first meal was pepperoni pizza, salad, pink lemonade and cookie dough from Papa Murphy's Pizza. The second night, we received lasagna, salad, garlic bread and brownies. On the third night (this particular evening), we ate delicious meat pie (Brent said it reminded him of a Western Burger), Spanish rice and more yummy brownies. We are blessed to have a great family and wonderful friends!

Before eating dinner, Beck stood on his step stool to wash his hands but ended up drinking the water from his hands...he thought that was so funny!!!

Play Date

Brent is working on a big project in Allen and is not able to take time off from work. Since Mom left on Wednesday, Leigh offered to bring Natalie over Thursday morning so Beck would have a playmate and to help me out since I'm still recovering which helped SO much!!!

Beck had an absolute blast playing with Natalie!
Leigh, thank you for letting me take a shower!!!

Kinsey meets...

Wednesday evening, Brian, Katherine, Ava and Lola brought dinner over and met Kinsey. We enjoyed eating Mexican Lasagna, chips, homemade salsa and cookies. Katherine also made burritos to put in the freezer and Chinese chicken drumsticks which we thoroughly enjoyed later on.

Ava enjoyed holding Kinsey and Lola cracked us up sitting on Beck's toy tractor!
Thanks Bishop family for the wonderful food!!!

Doctor Visit - 6/23

Today is Nana's last day with us and my eyes got watery every time I thought of her leaving us. She was a HUGE help for all of us and I appreciate all that she did.
We took Kinsey to the doctor 2 days after being home from the hospital for a check-up and Dr. Minsky said, "It looks like we've got another big Bishop on our hands." She weighed 8 lbs 7.5 oz and her length is now 20 1/2".
After the trip to the doctor's office, Nana took us to What-a-Burger for some much needed fast food. I was able to put Beck down for his nap and that's when Nana and Wendy hit the road back to Henderson after a few tears.

Nana & Wendy...Thank you for all of your help!!!

Kinsey - Day Four

Going Home!!!
We are thrilled to go home and not have nurses wake us up in the middle of the night.

There's no doubt that Kinsey has a healthy set of lungs and we can definitely tell when she's not happy. She was not happy being put in the car seat but quickly fell asleep.
On the way home, we stopped by the pharmacy to drop off my prescriptions for my pain pills and antibiotics then Brent wanted lunch from What-a-Burger. Once we got settled at home, I ate the chicken and dumplings that mom had cooked for us.Welcome Home Kinsey!!!

Kinsey - Day Three

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
Brent and Beck came up to the hospital that morning and I had Brent's gift already there (thanks to Nana) and he was shocked. The kids gave him a pair of dress shoes for church, jeans and a handmade tile with Beck's hand print on it that says, "Daddy's Lil Helper".

That evening, the hospital served steak and lobster for dinner along with the most delicious chocolate cake. They do a celebratory dinner for all parent's the last night in the hospital. Kinsey watched us eat our awesome meal! What a great Father's Day!

Kinsey - Day Two

At this point, I still can't feel/move my right leg but hoping it comes back soon and I was told that I would get a liquid lunch if I could not keep my breakfast down. They gave me a bowl of oatmeal and yogurt. Brent, on the other hand, was served French Toast and I was SO jealous!!! I took a few bites of the oatmeal but got a feeling it might come back up so I quit eating it and asked for a bowl of fruit. They asked if I kept breakfast down and I had so I got a real meal for lunch...this is the first meal I've had since Thursday night.
Leigh came to the hospital with her kids (Natalie and Anderson) and Natalie came to meet Kinsey. That afternoon, Nana drove to Canton to meet my aunt Vickie and to get Wendy. Nana and Wendy spent the night with me to give Brent a break. Nana was a huge help that night since I was still in a lot of pain and I finally got feeling back in my leg that night.
