A Week in Gilmer!

On Saturday, July 9th, Beck went to a class that I had signed him up for before we found out we were moving called Astrotots. I thought he would enjoy it since he's into space, planets and rocket ships but I was wrong. This class was for 3-5 year olds and the instructor informed the parents to wait outside the classroom. I was afraid of what would happen next because I knew he would not be happy that I couldn't be by his side. I watched him from the window in the hallway and he was sitting at the table in a chair with his head down but his eyes were looking at me. He looked so sad and did not participate in anything the lady did with the kids. She wanted the kids to get up and jump for a gravity demonstration and Beck would not do it. She also let the kids throw a rock in a tub of sand to show what a meteor does when it hits the moon but he would not do that either. He finally got excited when she gave the kids a rocket ship to color. Whew! I was so relieved when he got excited about coloring. The teacher glued the rocket ship to a toilet paper tube then attached an astronaut with a pipe cleaner. It was really cute! That was the last thing they did and he couldn't wait to show Daddy what he had made. (Because of of Kinsey's birthday and us moving, he never went back to this 4-week class.)

While we were at the Plano Rec Center, Kinsey was napping and Brent was loading up a U-Haul trailer with all of our stuff from the attic and a lot of stuff from our garage to take to a storage unit in Gilmer. He and Beck took off after lunch and Kinsey and I had a girls weekend. We had fun running errands and that evening we went to see Natalie, Jeremy and Addison. They recently moved into a house that has a lien on the loan so it could possibly go into foreclosure. They really want it so they are hoping to buy it at some point. The house is on a one acre lot and it is really nice. They have a few remodeling plans but can't do anything until they are able to purchase it. I really hope it works out for them!

Noah is still in town and Brent called on Sunday to see if it was ok if Beck stayed in Gilmer for the week. I knew Beck would have a blast with his cousins but he only had two sets of clothes and one set of pj's. Kiki said she would get him some clothes to get him thru the week. Katherine brought Ava, Lola and Otto so it was a fun fest for sure at Pops and Kiki's house! It looks like they had a blast at Chuck E Cheese...and Beck met new friends and their names are MacKenzi and Lidia which will be his new best friends once we move to Gilmer.

They gathered every pillow in Kiki's house and had fun playing with them...I call it the mud pit but who knows where their imagination went with this creation.

Brent was able to get a lot of painting done while Beck was gone to get the house ready to be put on the market. It was nice not having to fight with Beck to eat but I sure missed the little guy!

The Difference Between Boys and Girls

Beck has become obsessed with Transformers! He wants to watch the movie over and over, he also loves the 1980's Transformer cartoon that I watched when I was young and he thinks he should have a new Transformer toy every time we go to the store! We have a Bumble Bee poster hanging in his room and he sleeps with a Transformer when he goes to bed. This is Beck watching the Transformer movie...

Little Miss Kinsey is a wristlet Bandit! She loves my Coach wristlet which I keep lipstick in and luckily she hasn't figured out how to unzip it but I'm sure my time is short.

Bishop Playhouse

I moved the little kids table to the play room (aka the formal dining room) and Kinsey sure enjoyed being able to sit in the little chair. Like I have said before, she is growing up and becoming a "big" girl.

As I was working in the kitchen, I gave Casey and Kinsey a measuring cup and a measuring spoon and they sure enjoyed "cooking". So cute!

A few months ago, Neena gave Kinsey this pink bear and she has recently become very attached to it. In fact, she sleeps with it and grabs it every time I go in her room to get her out of her crib. She loves this little stuffed bear!

Dual Birthday Celebration

Casey will celebrate his first birthday on Friday, July 8 but Marcus doesn't come to Bishop Playhouse on Friday's so we had a birthday party for Casey and Kinsey on Thursday, July 7 with chocolate chip cookies. We missed Kinsey's birthday celebration because we were busy getting ready for the beach so we had to make up for it. I usually bake cupcakes for the kids but Beck doesn't really like them and I knew he would tear into the chocolate chip cookies. All of the kids enjoyed the treat! We made the hats several months ago for another birthday celebration (I think it was Beck's in April) and their heads grew in three months and didn't really fit. Oh well, the hats stayed on long enough for me to get a few pictures so we can remember what we did.

Brent was offered a job with WRL this week so I'm giving three weeks notice to all of the parents today that we are moving to East Texas and Bishop Playhouse will be closing at the end of this month. Looks like the next three weeks will be busy getting the house ready to be put on the market and packing. Below are a few random pictures I took of the kids...

4th of July Weekend

While we were here for the long weekend, Brent decided to clear a path by the pond so we could get a closer look at it on the golf cart. He used many tools to cut down twigs, branches and trees. It is awesome now! However, the water level is starting to get low and it's going to get worse if we keep having 100+ temperature. I'm starting to feel sorry for the fish living in the pond.

Kinsey loves Willow and always wants to touch her so I put her in my lap so she could get some lovin' from the Great Dane. At this point, she has no fear but her brother, on the other hand, is scared to death of Willow.

Sunday afternoon, Jesse and Janet Mask brought Noah to Pops and Kiki's house. Beck was so excited to see his best buddy! We took some watermelon rind to the next door neighbor's animals and they ate it up. The kids sure enjoyed watching them eat.

Kinsey is already ALL Girl as she loves to play with the stuffed animals and push the baby stroller.

Once we got the kids cleaned up, Noah and Beck built a tower with big toys then they took the toys in the sunroom and built a fort. It was so much fun watching them play together.

On Monday morning, we got the kids in the pool and I was on a mission to try and get sun while Kinsey napped. The boys didn't last long in the pool which wasn't surprising because the pool isn't fun to Beck. He would much rather go in the house and play.

It was sad when we left because Beck wanted to keep playing with Noah. Noah was going to have a long visit so we were hoping they could get together again before he had to leave.

On a side note, Mom and Stephen went to San Jose, Costa Rica for the weekend (not San Jose, CA which is where I thought they went) and Wendy spent the weekend with her dad so that's why we didn't see them on this trip.
