Brotherly Love

Summer Time Fun
On Monday evening (July 26), Eric came to our house with his kids, John and Lauren (twins), to meet little Miss Kinsey and to give Beck a very cool Cars television. Lauren had a blast playing with Beck and we especially enjoyed that she wore him out! He played so hard that he was sweating in our air conditioned house! We told Eric to bring Lauren over any time...good times! Also notice that Beck's hair is much shorter. He got his second hair cut over the weekend at Great Clips and he did a much better job this time than the first time. The lady gave him a sucker before she started and he concentrated on eating the sucker and forgot what she was doing.

Lessons to Learn
My sweet husband gave me an awesome gift for my camera...a fixed lens! [Thank you Katherine for guiding him and for giving me aperture tips!] I'm having so much fun learning how to take better pictures of the kids!
Aunt Wendy wanted to take Beck to the park one evening so off they went and my last words were, "Be careful!" It was so nice to have some quiet time but Beck's face was pretty banged up when they returned. Aunt Wendy thought it would be fun to swing and poor little Beck ran behind her and that's how he got banged up. I hope Beck learned not to get close to somebody on a swing and Aunt Wendy learned a lesson too...she's the baby-sitter not there to play.

The next day, we took Beck to a different park and his face looks a little better.
We went to Borders bookstore for story time and Beck had no part of sitting down and listening to the lady tell the story of Curious George make pizza so we checked out the kid's section. Beck had the best time playing with the stuffed animals! He would pick up a dinosaurs and say, "Roar" and he especially loved the Cookie Monster! I thought I was going to have to buy it until he found a six-pack of little books and that's when Cookie Monster was left behind. I had a hard time paying for those books because Beck was screaming, "My Books!"
The next day we made a trip to the play area at Stonebriar Mall and it was pretty crowded so Beck didn't play very long.
Brent's weekend goal for the last weekend Wendy is here...to work on the flower bed in front of our house. He cut down 5 over grown bushes and dug up the roots. Then, he laid filter fabric and covered it with mulch. It looks so much better and will look even more better when we plant bushes. It's too hot to do that now so that project will take place in the fall.

One Month Old
Week Five (continued)
Since Aunt Wendy is here to help, Brent's goal is to get some projects knocked out. Saturday morning, he finished putting rocks around our pool and it looks great! Wendy and I put the kids in their strollers and walked 1.5 miles. Along the way, we stopped by the park to let Beck play. When we returned, Beck wanted to help Daddy...sweat + dirt = a dirty kid!

Now his face looks better!
Of course I had to take pictures of Kinsey too...
Week Five
Week Four
I am on my own for the fourth week of recovery and I'm so scared. How does a mother entertain a two-year toddler, nurse and care for a newborn while resting so my stitches can heal? Sounds impossible to me! Brent came home every day during his lunch break and helped out which was AWESOME!!!
Katherine and Lola came over to take pictures of Kinsey for her birth announcement and we got a couple of really good shots of her. Infant pictures should be taken when the baby is 1-2 weeks old and Kinsey is almost 4 weeks old at this point. She was not cooperating but I'm pleased with what Katherine was able to capture between crying and sleeping. Beck had fun playing with Lola.

Friday morning, we loaded up and took a road trip to meet Stephen and Wendy in Canton. Wendy will stay with us for a couple of weeks to help out. This is quarter month for Mom and she's facing the same frustrations with Wendy that Brent and I had when she lived with us. I wanted to help out since she'll be working late hours. Plus, Wendy will be a big help for us. I'm so glad she is with Mom and not going back to my cousin's dysfunctional house. I think Beck almost went stir crazy the other 3 days that we didn't do anything.
This is what happens when Brent and Beck go to the grocery store...

I guess Beck wants to be just like Daddy...
Kinsey's many poses...
