Memorial Weekend Part Two

Saturday night, I convinced Brent to cover the bedroom window with a blanket and like magic, Beck slept until 7:30am which is much better than the 6am Saturday wake-up call. He's just like his mommy...he LOVES sleeping in a super dark room. (I was able to sleep in too!) Then, we had to quickly get ready for church which started at 9am but we did it without any trouble.

After church, we rode the golf cart which is one of our favorite activities to do while at Pops and Kiki's house. We put Beck on top of a hay bale which brought back memories for me and Brent. Brent played on hay bales just like I did when we were young. My dad started with square bales but then moved up to the big round ones and sometimes he would kill animals that were hiding in the tall grass which was sad except for when he caught a snake then it was ok. (Snakes were my worst nightmare as a child! I would often dream they were all over me and not move until mom would come in my room to wake me up.) We stopped by the neighbors and fed the donkey...Beck and the donkey love it!
W
e had heard the Yamboree grounds had built a new play area so we loaded up to check it out. Luckily, we stopped by Sonic beforehand to get drinks because it was SUPER hot!!! Beck had fun going down the slides...
That afternoon, Brent helped Pops repair the air compressor and Beck just knew somebody would take him for a ride on the cart...poor thing sat there patiently waiting.
I came outside and took him for a ride and we found a cow's horn and had to show Brent once he was done working. Lexus found it and brought it to the house.
Another one of Beck's favorite activities...bubbles!
We cleaned up that night then hit the road about 9pm so that we would have all day Monday to enjoy our last holiday weekend before going back to work. Plus, the traffic is lighter and Beck sleeps which makes the trip easier. We did not make it to Henderson to see Nana because she and Steven spent the weekend in Bossier City.

On a side note...Kiki taught Beck to say, "No no Lexus" so that's what he says every time he see's Lexus and we think it is so funny!

It was a very nice and relaxing weekend!

Memorial Weekend Part One

Our trip to Gilmer took forever! We left the house at 5:15pm and finally arrived at Pops and Kiki's house at 8:45pm. Not only were we in rush hour traffic but it was a holiday weekend. Plus, we ran across a terrible wreck on I-20 which had to be shut down so we were detoured to Hwy 80 in Wills Point then got back on I-20 in Canton. I'm just glad we didn't encounter any problems along the way.

Saturday morning, we sat outside blowing bubbles then we found a really cute lizard! Beck thoroughly enjoyed throwing grass in the bucket for the lizard and the lizard would jump then Beck would laugh...it was so cute!!!
I can't remember why Beck got upset but this is his pouty face...
T
hen, we decided to put our swim suits on for a quick dip in the pool. Beck absolutely hates getting in the pool so he plays with the water from the side. He had fun playing with Freddy and filling his little boat with pool water...
We got pizza for lunch then we all went down for a much needed nap especially for me since I got up with Beck at 6am!
We took a family picture at Nanny's house then headed to David Beard's Catfish Village for dinner. Beck had a blast pushing Nanny's walker around.
Because we hadn't done enough today, we took Beck to the Country Club to check out the new play area. This kid plays so hard that he works up a pretty good sweat!

36 Weeks

I ended up taking Friday off before Memorial Day weekend because I had two appointments with the doctor. Since I was off, I also made an appointment to get both car seats inspected and feel much better about loading Kinsey and Beck in my car.

Friday morning didn't start off too well...I guess I took my nausea medicine later than normal and ended up getting sick as soon as I ate breakfast. Bummer!

Then, I was off to Children's Medical Center to get the car seats inspected and didn't realize I'd be standing in the hot sun for a solid hour! I was so hot and sweaty!

At 11:30, Brent and I were at the doctor's office for the sonogram. We were told that Kinsey is 7 lbs 3 oz. (Beck was born at this time and he was 6 lbs 12 oz.) If they are correct then I won't need to bring any preemie clothes to the hospital. We didn't get any good sono pictures because she is totally squished and it was hard to see her face.

B
rent and I ate lunch at Tin Star and after eating chips, salsa, corn salsa and two shrimp tacos, I had to bolt to the bathroom and it was not pretty! I was totally bummed that we spent almost $10 on my meal that didn't last more than 10 minutes. So, I rewarded myself with a milkshake before going back to the doctor's office for an exam. Dr. Innes (Dr. Nivens partner) said I was fine to travel to East Texas.

I have 4 more days in the office and then Kinsey can come whenever she wants!

Daddy's Helper

Having a pool is a lot of work but luckily Brent doesn't mind and Beck loves "helping" so we spend lots of evenings hanging out by the pool after dinner.

Cleaning the pool...
Beck absolutely LOVES his CAR! He drives this thing every where...in our house, down the side walk and by the pool...he manages to get his car to the upper level of the pool.
So sweet...
Daddy loves his helper!
Beck thinks Freddy is HIS...he's always trying to get him...
This is the closest we've seen Beck in our pool this year...
Pretty blue eyes...
He loves his shoes so much that he gets very upset if we don't put them on...
Spraying water...his favorite thing to do!
Now he's trying to help daddy "fix" Freddy...

My Sweet Co-Workers

Friday afternoon, Todd and Eric put together a really cute gathering for the office to wish me well before I go on maternity leave. They reached out to Brenda for some decorating help and she also made this yummy drink which consisted of Sprite, maraschino cherries and maraschino syrup. The petit fours came from Stein's and they were very tasty!
This is Todd and Eric...
This is Brenda Glossup...
The dessert table...
Susan Dederen (I've known Susan since we worked together at Steak & Ale) and Dan Fitzpatrick (Director of Purchasing)...
Office Peeps...
I am blessed to have such sweet and kind co-workers.

Kinsey's Room Update

I wanted to post a few pictures of Kinsey's room since it has changed since the shower last Saturday and we now have her dresser! It's finally getting there...I just need to get a skirt for the crib (on back order).
Now the bow holder has LOTS of bows...
This is her gorgeous dresser...
We had the bookshelf in the corner of her room but decided to move it after the dresser arrived...
