Remodel Update

I can't believe the new guest bedroom remodel is almost complete! All that's left is installing a new ceiling fan, painting the doors and moving in the furniture. Brent spent the entire weekend painting and installing the trim...it looks fantastic!

Bounce House

Last Friday was an absolutely gorgeous day so we decided to set up the bounce house that Beck got for Christmas. I must say that it is very big and very fun!

During the Christmas holidays, we had a few blow-up decorations in our yard and Beck got the biggest kick turning them off, letting them deflate then turning them back on again. Well, that's pretty much what he wanted to do with the bounce house too. However, he does love to slide so he was quite content and entertained going up and down the slide. Maybe we can get him acquainted with the climbing wall and the bouncy part this summer.

Time to go eat dinner so down the slide I go (6-months preggers)...

Look at what Daddy did to me

Brent finished dinner before Beck and I so he got ready to work on the new guest bedroom. There was a tiny patch of wall that he missed putting texture on so he bought a can of texture to cover it. Brent was adjusting the spray nozzle right as Beck walked up and check out what happened...

Yep, that's texture all over Beck's face!!! Beck touched his head and went on about his business. He was not phased by it until bath time when we had to drench his head with water to get it off and that 's when the tears started flowing.

N
ot only does he have texture all over his face but he also has reminisce of Doritos around his lips and a big booger hanging out of his nose!!!

Time Out?

It looks like we put Beck in jail but he's actually playing with my new shoe rack. I also love what he's wearing...pj pants, short sleeve shirt, summer shoes with socks because it's still cold outside. Beck is obsessed with shoes! He will let you know when he's not happy with the shoes you have put on him and he cries when you take his shoes off. One night, he wanted to go to bed with his shoes!
I love this picture...he is my sunshine (with a dirty face)!

Recently, I looked at his one-year old picture and he had a very fine amount of hair but now that he's almost 2 (next month), he's ready for his first haircut! Look at the wild hair!!!

24 Weeks

Well, the belly bump is really out there now! Todd, my boss, said he's going to start calling me Bob (big ole belly). It does get in the way at times...
Dr. Nivens said the measurement of my belly is right on, my weight is good and Kinsey's heart rate was great this time. Yeah!!! Little Kinsey moves around A LOT!!! She sometimes wakes me up during the night...I think she might be a dancer like her mommy! She practicing doing high kicks.

We've had a lot going on the past couple of weekends...basketball game at church, helping Brian and Katherine move and going home to take care of Zeus so we haven't had time to do anything with the new guest bedroom. However, this weekend, Brent made tons of progress! Because the wall already had "some" texture on it, he had to float the walls, sand them down then spray texture on them. He worked so hard on it this weekend...he is super sore and has cuts all over his hands. The room is now ready for paint, move the guest bedroom furniture then we can paint Kinsey's room.

Big Loss

As a pet owner, you sometimes think how long your pet will live. Just like in the movie Marley & Me, Marley went from a wild pup to a mature old lab then started having health problems and you knew the movie would not end on a happy note.

Brent's sweet English Mastiff has always had hip dysplasia but it never really bothered him until this past year.

We don't have a back yard because of the pool so we kept Zeus locked up in the kitchen to keep him from crushing Beck. Last summer, on many mornings we would find poop in the kitchen because it was getting difficult for him to hold it all night. So, we took him to East Texas so he could be free to poop where ever he wanted at Wes and Kath's big yard.

Zeus loved being free in the country but took a turn for the worse and had difficulty getting up and down. He pooped and urinated where ever he laid because it was too painful to get up.

Shortly after Christmas, Zeus developed a tumor on his eye and the vet said he needed surgery but did not recommend it because of the shape he was in. We had to make the very difficult decision to put him to rest so that he would no longer be in pain.

Zeus was put to sleep on Saturday morning, February 27th at 8:00am at Wes and Kath's house. Dean Haws was kind enough to dig an 8 x 5 x 5 hole with his back hoe. Unfortunately, the dirt got wet which made it hard for Brent, Wes and Kath to shovel into the hole. Beck wanted to help too so Kath gave him a tiny shovel to use (actually, it was the pooper scooper). But that got old quick so he was back to running around all over the place while I chased him.

Zeus was 12 years old and was with Brent through the best of times and through the worst of times. He was there to see Brent start law school then saw Brent go through a very sad time because of losing his Uncle David. Zeus finally got to meet Brent's sweet wife and shared lots of cuddle time together. Finally, Zeus got to meet Brent's first born child, Beck. Beck was never afraid of Zeus even though he weighed over 175 pounds. Zeus was always very sweet and gentle when he was around Beck and anybody else for that matter. The only time I saw a glimpse of anger was when Brent tried to take a bone away from him.
Zeus, we will miss you terribly but we will always remember you and treasure all of the memories!!!

20 Weeks Pregnant Update

This picture was taken when I was 20-weeks pregnant (Feb. 2).
Brent and I can't get over how I'm showing a lot more than I did with Beck. It seems like it took a very long time to develop the baby bump the first time around but not this time.

It took us a very long time to decide on Beck's name so we often referred to him as the "Golden Child".

Before I found out the sex of our second child, I started a list of names but only girl names because that's what I REALLY wanted. Luckily, God has blessed us with the best of both worlds...a boy and a girl. Here are a few names that I had on my list...

  • Aniston
  • Kinsey
  • Morgan
  • Gabrielle
  • Alexis
  • Lyra
The one name that Brent liked was Kinsey which happens to be the name of the street he lived on when we first started dating so that's the name we are using. Last weekend, we looked at the Bishop family genealogy that Kathleen had worked on and noticed Kinsey is the last name of Brent's great, great, great grandmother's maiden name. Miss Kinsey married Mr. Sanders and they had a daughter. She married Mr. Lee and they named their son Heck Lee which is how we came up with Beck Lee's name. So, I hope that all makes sense and "Lee" is also on my Mom's side of the family. My grandpa's (Kenneth Blaine Wright) dad's name was Arthur Lee Wright. We have enjoyed looking at old family names.
