Annual Easter Pictures

04.17.13

There's a house down the street that has a really big bush with white flowers and I love looking at it every time I pass it which is at least four times per day.  I saw the home owner outside the other day and I told her how much I love looking at her white flowers and if she would mind if I took some pictures of Beck and Kinsey in front of her bush.  She didn't mind at all and she told me that Nanny taught her daughter when she was five years old.

So, I got the kids ready this Wednesday morning and this is how my big picture day went...we started at the house with the white flower bush and Kinsey said the grass was hurting her feet.  Then, Beck saw a bee and I told him not to worry about the bee but that's when Aunt Wendy chimed in and said, "You better hurry because there are a lot of bees."  I told Beck that she was tricking us and I managed to get a few good ones here.

Then, we drove to my favorite driveway and got some really cute pictures here but Kinsey fell down right before we left.  Luckily, she didn't scrape up her knees...just got a little dirty.

Finally, I wanted some bluebonnet pictures because I didn't get any last year and I've been eyeing a few different places.  The one that I thought would be the best was right next to a concrete mixer and of course they just happened to be pouring concrete in a truck this morning.  I have to admit that it was pretty loud.  Both, Beck and Kinsey held their ears.  How can I get good pictures of them with their hands over their ears?  Luckily, I have Aunt Wendy to help!  She held Beck's tiger and acted like it was attacking me and they loved it!

A big thanks to Aunt Wendy for helping me get these great pictures and I also want to thank my kids for putting up with my need for annual Easter pictures.  They make me so happy!

Aunt Wendy's April Visit

04.17.13

On Monday morning, I lifted Kinsey up and put her in the SUV, she lost her balance and my head/lip stopped her from falling out.  I'm glad I was there to keep her from getting hurt but my poor lip paid the price.  It bled all the way to Beck's school.  Ouch, my lip really hurts but my pain is totally worth it.
Wednesday in Bullard

Yesterday, we picked up Aunt Wendy for her April visit and I have a lot of things planned during her visit.  She's going to help me get the kids to smile for Easter pictures.  (Yes, I know I'm late getting these done but the flowers weren't ready since Easter was so early this year.)  And, I'm going to take her to see the house for the very first time!  Neena came over at 10am this morning and we all loaded up in my vehicle and drove to Bullard.  First, we ate at a Mexican restaurant that was really yummy.  We talked to the owner and he said his dad opened El Charro so he definitely knows what he's doing.  Anyway, Wendy really likes our house and this was Neena's first time to see it since the sheet rock has been up.  We love the paint and I can't wait to move in!

Beck cracked me up tonight!  He would put his favorite stuffed animal, tiger, in different positions and would take a picture.  Then, he wanted me to take this picture of him and tiger sitting in the chair with a blanket.  Beck is such a sweet boy!

Fun Day with Neena and Aunt Wendy

04.13.13

Daddy is working on the house today so I'm taking the kids to the Build and Grow workshop at Lowe's at 10am on this very hot day.  Neena and Aunt Wendy is meeting us there and I'm excited for them to watch the kids hammer.

After building The Croods planter, Beck got a flower balloon and Kinsey got a really cool hat balloon.

I'd really like to know how much money these machines make...it cost $0.75 per ride.

Beck and Aunt Wendy went to the car wash with me and then, Beck asked very nicely if he could get a new toy.  How could he want or need a new toy since he just got new toys for Easter and his birthday?  He did get some birthday money from Neena so we went to the toy store and he picked out a Transformer.  It's so hard to say no to this super cute boy.
Saturday with Neena and Wendy4

Kinsey just woke up when we got back so we loaded the kids up in the double stroller and went for a walk around the neighborhood.  Neena showed us this beautiful bush and Wendy wanted me to take her picture in front of it.

Poor little Beck is worn out and fell asleep right before we got back to Neena's house.  I loaded them up and picked up some pizza for dinner.  We are so excited because Daddy will be home soon!  I sure do appreciate all of his hard work on our house.

Friday Family Fun Night

04.12.13

Let me tell you about our evening...Beck's game is at 6pm which means we need to be there by 5:30pm to warm up and get the batting order ready.  Brent called me a little after 5 saying he ran out of gas by Dean Lumber.  Kinsey was ready but Beck was still eating dinner and I still needed to get him dressed.  Surprisingly, we were about 5-10 minutes late and Brent couldn't remember if he had locked the truck so Kinsey and I had to go back and lock it.  What really worried me is all of the paint in the back of Brent's truck (about 25 gallons!).  Anyway, the team Beck played tonight is a really good team.  Sarah's son, Tanner, is on this team and she told me to request this coach which I did but we did not get him.  The catcher looks like he's about 10 years old and he ended up tackling Beck after Beck hit the ball.  Beck ran to first base with tears in his eyes and Daddy pumped him up and made those tears go away.

Kinsey loves wearing bracelets and a ring whenever she can.

She also likes being held like a baby in Daddy's arms!  She is so funny!

After the game, we had to fill up a gas can for Daddy's truck and luckily, all of the paint was still in the bed of the truck.  We drove to the gas station to fill up the truck which is a treat for the kids.  They love going to the gas station!  Wanna know why?  To get drinks and candy! This was a very interesting Friday night for this family.  Thanks for the memories and a big thanks to Kiki and Pops for driving back from Tyler to watch Beck play ball!

Let's Play Ball...or Watch Kinsey...she's very entertaining!

04.09.13

The day after Beck's birthday, he had a 6:30pm ballgame and I know that I've already posted a million pictures of him (I'm a very proud mommy!) but tonight it was Kinsey that stole the show.  She's got quite the look tonight.  I love how she wears a headband!
Game After Bday

I had to get a selfie because I got my hair cut and colored today and I love it!  However, it's been a long time since I had it cut and she had to cut off a lot of dead ends.  I feel like I'm back to where I started.  I learned a lesson today...don't go that long without getting my ends trimmed!

And, she discovered a new treat tonight...I don't know what it is called but it looks like a bottle and the top is sticky and powder is in the bottle.  She dipped the sticky top inside the bottle and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Lots of sugar tonight!

Officially Five Today!!!

04.08.13

Five years ago, Baby Beck entered our lives and it has been a blessing watching him grow.  Beck is such a sweet little boy.

Today is a big day for Beck...Mrs. Mason gave him a birthday hat to wear and a sweet little girl by the name of Josie gave him a present.  He was so excited about it when I picked him up from school.  He held it in his lap all the way home.  He opened it once we got inside the house and it was a shoe boxed filled with an old timey car, a dinosaur and alligators.  It was a really cute gift!

I took cupcakes to his school and they all sang to him after eating lunch.  He still claims that he does not like chocolate so I got white cupcakes with yellow frosting.  I had to change the color of the frosting since the blue icing was such a mess at his birthday party last weekend.  I know his teacher would not have appreciated blue lips and blue teeth.
Beck Bday 5

We drove to the Spring Hill park but Beck and Kinsey fell asleep so I sat in the car at the park for about 30 minutes or more.  Then, I woke them up so we could play then go eat dinner.  That was a bad idea...they were both so grouchy!  We walked to the play area and neither of them would play!  They also told me they could not walk so I carried both of them to the SUV.  That will win Mom of the Year for sure!  So, we hit the road and I drove to Chick-fil-A.  Beck fell asleep again!  But, this time they weren't as grumpy and we had a nice dinner with Neena.  Beck and Kinsey played for a long time and then we stopped by Neena's house so she could fix Spooky the Cat.  The kids broke Spooky's leg off at church a few weeks ago and Beck needs to take it to school tomorrow for Pet Week.  He was so excited that Neena fixed his cat.  On the way home he told me, "I'm going to sleep with Spooky tonight because Neena fixed him."  How sweet is that little boy?!  He just melts my heart!  I love you to the moon and back, Beck!

I've got a birthday binder that will have these two pictures in them.  A big thanks to Katherine for taking these pictures last weekend!

Family Day

04.07.13

We are recording the General Conference today so that we can go to our house and burn the lumber that's piled up in the yard.  I'm taking marshmallows to give Beck and Kinsey something to do while we wait for the wood to burn up.  However, the wind is way too strong today and kept blowing out the fire.  Bummer!  But, it was fun seeing the house especially now that it's ready for some paint!

After we got home, Daddy built a giant ball with the new magformers.

Then, Beck rode his trike while Kinsey rode Beck's big bike.  She will learn how to ride a big bike before Beck will.  I love the rope that Daddy tied to Kinsey's bike!  She made it all the way to Aunt Karen's house and she fell over right before we got home.  Bummer!  However, she got on the trike and rode it for a little bit so I guess the fall didn't scare her too much.

I sure enjoyed our time together today!  We will be able to have more days like this once the house is finished.

Opening Day (part two)

Each year, First Baptist Church sets up a small play area for Opening Day so we checked it out after our first game.  They offered cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, bounce houses, lots of games, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks!  And, this was all free!  Beck and Kinsey had an absolute blast!

We took our food home to eat and we were able to rest for a little bit then we had to be back at the baseball fields at 2pm for a 2:30pm game.  Neena and Stephen came to watch.  By the way, we all changed into cooler clothes because it is warm this afternoon.
Opening Day16

It's fun to watch these two interact with each other most of the time.  It usually ends in somebody getting hurt and this time it was Kinsey.  Beck bumped her head with his helmet.

Game over and we are all worn out!  But, we don't have much down time because Brent has priesthood at 6:30pm and I'm going to Kelli's house at 7pm for a Ladies Night Out get together.  And, we are letting Beck open presents from us since we will be busy tomorrow and Brent has to work late Monday night.  This is a super packed day.  Anyway, Stephen and Neena decided to ride the bike on this lovely day and I love seeing Beck and Kinsey hold their ears because they think the bike is too loud.
Opening Day22

Kiki offered to watch the kids so that we could enjoy our evening out and we let Beck open gifts from us before we left.  Beck has been asking for Jenga Boom every time we see the commercial for it on tv and we got him over 150 pieces of Magformers.  I know two little kids will have fun with the new toys tonight!  We will open gifts from Kiki and Pops tonight because Pops is already at the church.

Kelli was at the ballpark today like we were and had not been home long when I arrived.  Her house is so pretty!  I love her style/taste!  I brought a crock pot full of queso then Patti showed up with a bowl of queso then Bonnie showed up with more queso.  Great minds think alike!  I had so much fun visiting with the girls!  In fact, I had so much fun that I ended up losing track of time and left her house at almost 11pm!  So, I missed Beck opening gifts from Kiki and Pops but he was happy to show them to me when I got home. I sure do hope the kids sleep late because this is one tired mommy.
