Polar Bear

Brent will read a book to Beck every night before going to bed and one particular book called, "Polar Bear Polar Bear What Do You Hear" has been Beck's favorite lately. He's probably heard the story a handful of times and one day we heard him recite the entire book!!! We were floored that he remembered it word for word. We get such joy watching him learn new things. It is fascinating to us to tell Beck something and he'll repeat it the next day. We are proud parents and think he's super smart!

These are the books on my night stand for Beck to choose from each night.

You are probably wondering why they are on my night stand versus the book shelf in his room and that's because Beck thinks his bed is OUR bed! I am the most sleep deprived person in this house so I'm not ready to tackle this just yet. Once I get Kinsey sleeping all night then maybe I'll start making Beck sleep in his own bed since I'm use to interrupted sleep anyway. Brent suffers from sleep apnea so he already doesn't get enough sleep. Plus, he snores so loud that he would never hear Beck cry in the middle of the night.

Bath Time

Beck wanted to take a bath with Kinsey so I hopped in the tub with them and Beck thought that was so funny!

Neighborhood Crime Watch Block Party

On October 5th, our neighbor, Norris, put together a block party which entailed food, drinks, door prizes, ambulance, fire truck and the Cheif of Police gave a short speech about protecting our neighborhood. Norris puts this together every year which is a lot of work considering he has to get approval from the neighbors that live on Dagen street to block it off, ask for prizes, pass our flyers to all of our neighbors and he asks that each street bring different things. For example, our street (Stilwell) was responsible for plates, napkins or cups so we brought paper plates. It is a great way to meet our neighbors!

Beck had an absolute blast running around not to mention being able to get on the ambulance and fire truck!!! I usually carry my camera every where we go but forgot to bring it so I had to push the stroller with Kinsey in it as fast as possible to our house and back to be able to capture a few pictures of Beck with the fire truck.

He also played with older kids that were keeping the ball away from him. He was so worn out by the time we went home.

Brent ended up winning a gift certificate to JC's burger and Beck won a free scoop of ice cream from Henry's Ice Cream and got a bag/free meal from Gatti Town. I was hoping to win the grand prize...gift certificate to Picasso's. Norris pulled the last name out of the bowl and said, "Sheri"...my heart starting racing because I just knew I would win THE best door prize...then he said somebody elses last name! Oh well, we had a good time and can't wait to do it again next year!

The Big Orange Pumpkin Patch (continued)

The Big Orange Pumpkin Patch

For the third year in a row, we took a trip to Bill Bates Ranch in Celina, TX to see the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch and Jeff, Jill and Marcus joined us. This year, we had to pay $7 for Beck which was a bummer considering they didn't have the big blow up slide like they had last year, he didn't feed the animals (included in the price) and he didn't want to ride the make-shift train ride (extra $2) pulled by a four-wheeler. Basically, we rode the hay ride, took A LOT of pictures and Brent ate two hot dogs (he claims Beck ate half of one). A trip is not complete until somebody gets hurt and of course that would be our must run at the fastest pace possible son...he was twirling around me, fell to the ground and hit his head pretty hard on the ground.
Sorry to do this but we took so many pictures that this will be a two-part series...Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Anderson Lee Talley!!!

On October 2nd, we celebrated Anderson's first birthday and the poor thing was so tired that he took a nap immediately after blowing out his birthday candle. Leigh asked me to take pictures with her camera which is why I have no pictures of him with his really cute birthday cake. I'm so impressed that Leigh made these super cute cupcakes!

Beck had an absolute blast playing with Natalie and Brent and I enjoyed catching up with some old friends...

New Do

Beck got another hair cut and he is looking more and more like a little boy. It's football season which means lots of tv time for Brent. However, I do appreciate that he records the games and watches them quickly by fast forwarding to the next play and through all of the commercials. I had to get out of the house so Beck and I went for a walk. I was laughing at Beck as he pushed his lawn mower to the green belt. He makes me laugh every day!
